Tonsil Cancer? Any experience or knowledge? *PICTURE*

I know this isn't a place to get medical advice but I think I just need a push to either get over myself and stop worrying OR actually go to the GP.

I get tonsillitis quite frequently, I'd say about every 12-14 weeks or so for the last year. After the last bout (8 weeks ago) I noticed a small lump just behind my left tonsil, didn't think much of it as thought it was just swelling.

It hasn't gone away and it has gotten bigger. I'm probably about to start another mild tonsillitis flare up, they're a bit red and sore but the lump is what's concerning me most. Obviously I've done some googling, which probably hasn't helped. I don't smoke or drink so I'm not a super high risk factor, but it is worrying me a bit.

Anyone got any thoughts or experience?

Hi everyone!
I just stumbled upon this discussion since I've been panicking for two weeks now about my swollen left tonsil. I've had a bit of swelling about a month ago in my throat, no pain or anything, and I've contacted my doctor over the phone. They told me to take antibiotics for 5 days without checking me phisically. I did so and the swelling went away, but I started experiencing random jaw stiffness and I noticed that my left tonsil is a lot bigger than the right (here's a picture prnt.sc/w7gdxw ).
I called the doctor again and they sent me to do a blood test and to check my throat and tongue for bacteria. My blood test came out squeaky clean and I was clear from bacteria as well. My tonsil is still enlarged and I don't know how to feel about that. I don't have a fever, nor do I have lumps anywhere. I do have random tooth pain sometimes, so could it be because of a tooth or something? Maybe this isn't the place to ask, but I'm really desperate and scared out of my mind, because wherever I look- cancer! I'm a 20 year old guy, if that helps.

Hello!

I am new here, but my tonsils look the exact same. Due to Covid, I can only see an ENT in 30 days. I am trying to feel better in the meantime, so I wanted to ask: @HereForTheHelp, if you can read this, can you please, please tell us what happened and what the diagnosis was?

Many thanks in advance!

It looks like an infection or ulcer. I don't think that's cancer at all. Get it checked out though as it might need treatment.

I have something similar to this, could you feel this tonsil polyp with your tongue? What happened in the end?
