What have you forgotten from a hotel room?

I have just got back from an overnight stay and have realised I left my little bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.

When we got married we left dh's wedding suit hanging in the wardrobe (luckily realised quite quickly and went back)

One hotel stay we discovered the remains of someone's takeaway in a drawer.

So what have you forgotten?

A beautiful Jumpsuit that I had bought that morning to wear to a wedding. It was silk, in a gorgeous deep green from phase eight and in my drunken wisdom when I got back to the room, hung it up in the dressing gown bad thingy in the wardrobe instead of my suit carrier.
Realised when we were 2 hours down the road On the way home the next day that I hadn’t seen my jumpsuit when I was packing but didn’t say anything as presumed dp had packed my suit carrier which is where I thought I had hung it.
Got home to discover it empty. Phoned the hotel but they said it hadn’t been handed over. I was so so upset, cost me the best part of £200 and it fit me like a glove and felt amazing in it which is rare!!
Ended up buying a replacement which I now glare at in resentment when I spot it in my wardrobe Angry

Nightie - twice, got one back
Pair of shoes
Swimsuit - was drying on radiator
Laptop - did get that one back but a long drive!

Brand new unworn hoody.

Probably loads of other things over the years but that stands out as it was recent.

My favourite heels. Perfect height, colour and actually comfortable.

I rang the hotel but they couldn't be found. Liars. Hope they got blisters (which they won't due to the perfect shoes 😭)

I've never managed to replace them. It was 6 years ago and I'm still annoyed.

My swimsuit, the only one that has ever fitted me perfectly! Wrapped it in a towel after using the hotel pool and it got scooped up by the cleaners. One day I will find another as perfect as that one.

Glasses! Posted to me free of charge bless them.

More worrying was that I drove on the motorway without clicking until the next day...

Nothing. I'm really really thorough about packing up.

I stay in hotels 3-4 times per month. I'm always leaving stuff. I now judge hotels on how good their "returns service" are Grin

Best are Doyle Collection and, somewhat unexpectedly, Mark Warner.

Intercontinental, Hilton have been less good.

I will never get over the very expensive slip nightie I left in a hotel room. It was beautiful. Remembered I'd left it within 45 mins checking out. Called them. They'd not found it Hmm

About 3 months after our wedding, I found the door key to our room from the castle we had married in. I was told specifically not to lose the key, because they didn't have a replacement! I guessed as they never got in touch, that it wasn't such a problem and quietly put it in a drawer. It's still there, 15 yrs later.

I left my phone charging once because I was giving it a boost while we went down for breakfast, then DH said he'd just run up and get the cases and I totally forgot about it as it's ALWAYS in my bag.

I got in touch with the hotel when I realised about two hours later of DH's phone and they said nothing was plugged in where I said I'd left it.

So the cleaner got a lovely, very expensive early birthday present, then, I'm guessing.

Some of these are awful where the staff have clearly found and kept stuff. There should be a name and shame thread. Who knows, it might prick someone's conscience.
