It's fluffy rubbish but I still say 'just in cases'

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/11/2019 21:34

Ohh I say "Eight is a lot of legs, David" Blush

aHintOfPercy · 14/11/2019 21:34

Very disappointing film. Rom-com painting by numbers for Richard Curtis.

blackmould · 14/11/2019 21:35

Can I ask people who like it which of the storylines are their favourites?

stoplickingthetelly · 14/11/2019 21:36

It’s a guilty pleasure kind of film. Really cheesy and rubbish in many ways, but I absolutely love it and have seen it loads of times. Just accept it for what it is and enjoy.

SleepwalkingThroughLife · 14/11/2019 21:36

Mine is Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman.

blackmould · 14/11/2019 21:38

The Emma Thompson one is depressing, I thought, is there a decent resolution to it (I can't remember)?

Elbeagle · 14/11/2019 21:41

AsAhDiSeh I say ‘just in cases’ too Grin.
I also like the Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman storyline. No there’s no decent resolution to it, but there often isn’t in life is there?

Teachermaths · 14/11/2019 21:46

The Emma Thompson Alan Rickman couple are by far the most realistic and also the most heartbreaking.

AuntieDolly · 14/11/2019 21:50

The American girl and the gorgeous man was very sad

DontCallMeShitley · 14/11/2019 21:58

I watch it every year.
I don't want to miss it so bought a copy just in case.

'Little chubby girl'
'Ant or Dec'
And many other memorable lines.

Magnificentme · 14/11/2019 21:58

It's a favourite feel good film in our house.

Sophonax · 14/11/2019 23:52

It’s an offensively terrible film which holds its female characters (and, I can only assume, viewers) in total contempt.

BelgianWhistles · 14/11/2019 23:52

I say ‘just in cases’ too

Me too!

Grafittiqueen · 14/11/2019 23:57

I used to enjoy it, but watched it last Christmas and was horrified, so many offensive parts.

Ladyratterley · 14/11/2019 23:58

Aww I do love it although it is very of it's time.
It is ridiculous how they keep referring to Martine McCutcheon as fat or chubby when she is nothing of the sort.
I have a soft spot for is as it reminds me of being on the other side of the world backpacking at the age of 23. I went to watch it at an open air cinema to watch it around Christmas and it reminded me of England and made me feel a bit homesick as it's so British.

I also say "just in cases", "eight is a lot of legs David" and "Where the fuck is my fucking coat?"

blue25 · 15/11/2019 00:03

It’s terrible. Keep your expectations low.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 15/11/2019 00:07

Am I the only one who has never seen it?

fedup21 · 15/11/2019 00:14

Hello, Ant or Dec
Kids, don’t buy drugs...
There was more more than one lobster present at the birth of Christ?
Which doll shall we give as a present...

Bluewavescrashing · 15/11/2019 00:15

Keira Knightly gives me the rage.
