Ethnic cleansing again.

I know I have a thread already in petitions, but wtf is the point in this.
It's just making more people homeless, that the council will have to house.
It won't save any money, it will cost a fortune.
Whilst we have a van it's considered as a home, so applying to the council you are on the list the same as everyone else.
Take the van away we are homeless if we don't have a house, too.

I wondered how long it would be, the most of Europe have been cleansing for a while, but of course if it doesn't affect the majority it's hardly reported until significant change like this.

Some of the travellers are very intimidating though. Went to an evening class at a local centre and there was a traveller funeral.

Their dc were not being supervised and were breaking coat hangers and chucking them down the stairs, the adults were very drunk.

The person taking the class locked the door as everyone was scared.

It's all very well saying it's 1500 years of history, but things have changed in 1500 years! 1500 years ago there were far fewer inhabitants and a darn site more open space. And life was cheaper. My ancesters lived in a stately home, should I rack up there and claim it? I think people are tired of travellers racking up, making a mess where ever they like (in our town that is kids football pitches usually) then buggering off leaving their crap behind for the locals to foot the bill.

So the behaviour of a minority should reflect how a whole race is treated.
That's pure racism.

I know and believe me if/when I see anti social behaviour I call it everytime. There are few of the elder generation who still remember what it was like to grow up free to travel. My parents generation, my kids granny.
They can't stand the way younger ones behave and disassociate themselves from known families who do this. None of them are anything to do with my family anyway, that behaviour is as alien and aborant to us as it is to you.
I still stand by what I said about understanding why they do it, but it solves nothing and adds to the hatred, which fuels the hatred, racism and discrimination.

I hate anti-gypsy sentiment. Gypsies and travellers have pretty much the worst health and education outcomes compared to any other group in society. Of course people should respect the laws, but it’s not right to assume the culture of settled folk is right: there are other ways to love and long and beautiful traditions behind them.

You've hit the nail on the head, I'm a traveller, Romany it's what I am.
Sometimes I live in a house, but I prefer to be outside. I enjoy music and dancing in the open air round a campfire. many Romanies don't do this and are more settled, some travellers have different social norms and beliefs.
None of them condone the bad behaviour that is apparent all too often.
That is done on a purely individual level.

I was recalling a recent incident of how intimidating some of the travellers are.

It was a funeral wake.

This isn't the first time I have experienced this.
