But obviously that wasn't today so I shall place myself on the naughty step for not reading the OP properly

DDIL knocked a suare wooden box off a high cupboard once. The corner if it hit me in the head. Left a dent in my forehead. Poor girl was mortified. I couldn't stop laughing at her face. Then I told everybody at DGDs first birthday party the next day that she was trying to kill me iff for the insurance Wink

Whitelisbon · 10/11/2019 16:07

Bringing my dts home from a party earlier, and dtd fell over. Turned round to pick her up, and somehow managed to send dts flying. As in, his feet left the ground flying.
He cried louder and longer than dtd, and is still glaring at me occasionally.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 10/11/2019 16:11

My Dad shut my hand in the car door when I was 3. Mum still brings it up occasionally 😂😂

MsChatterbox · 10/11/2019 20:56

@Isadora2007 I guess not much significance. And because I provided first aid.

Royallyscrewed · 12/11/2019 19:52

My dad ran my mum over slightly once. They were on the front drive- my mum was being dithery and checking her handbag on the car bonnet and my dad revved the engine to hurry her but stalled the car and it jerked forward and pinned her to the garage door. She’s still milking it 5 years later.

itsboiledeggsagain · 12/11/2019 19:56

My PA failed to open the door properly for a well known politician and it hit him hard on the head. We had to record it in the accident book. Grin

He was very nice about it.

Jimdandy · 12/11/2019 20:04

We all know you did it on purpose in a bout of unexpressed anger for her interfering 😀😀

Zaphodsotherhead · 12/11/2019 20:28

I ran myself over slightly once, Royally. I'd parked my car on a sloping side of road (where the slope ran up towards the pavement and my handbrake hadn't caught quite right. When I got out, the car started to roll backwards, so I ran round behind it and tried to push it back up the slope...

Unfortunately, the car outweighed me by quite a lot, and grazed both my legs quite badly before it sort of weebled into the ditch between the road surface and the slope I'd parked on, and stopped rolling.

Yes, I was stupid.

bottleofbeer · 12/11/2019 21:22

She’s not dead. It’s fine.

happytoday73 · 12/11/2019 21:27

Oh dear! I managed to do this to myself... Literally saw stars... Sat down on wet floor... Must have looked a state as passing teenagers asked me if I was OK!

Irisloulou · 12/11/2019 21:33

I once locked a door with my child finger in it! Couldn’t understand why she was screaming. I felt awful, physically sick.
I’ve also slammed a heavy boot on a small child’s head.
One child closed the door on siblings fingers, trapped in hinge.

Actually they have been more incidents just like those . 😳 not sure how the children have any fingers left!

Sahej · 12/11/2019 23:24

@PrincessHoneysuckle do you normally get on with your mil? Even if you don't that is a bit harsh and your lucky if she's not pressing charges

Brigante9 · 12/11/2019 23:32

@Zaphodsotherhead you’re very lucky! The lady in the bed next to me did exactly that, car rolled over her, caused lots of damage, huge skin graft.

Zaphodsotherhead · 13/11/2019 10:02

@Brigante9 I know. It was only because the gutter was there and stopped the car rolling that saved me from going underneath it. I am a lot more careful with the handbrake now (and actually leave the car in gear instead!) I just had some impressive bruises. But apparently it's a common reaction - to try to push the car back!

Brigante9 · 13/11/2019 10:27

OMG, @Zaphodsotherhead I think I would have got out of the way, my car is way bigger than me!!

amusedbush · 13/11/2019 10:37

My dad (accidentally!) shut my hand in the car door when I was little. We must have looked a right state at the hospital as I was getting x-rayed - me in my gymnastics clothes and mum 9 months pregnant with my ginormo-baby brother Grin
