With the car boot door.I feel so guilty,it was the corner part too Blush Anyone else done anything clumsy today?

My aunt's next door neighbour died after the boot hit her on the head. It was a few hours afterwards, she felt a bit dizzy and tired so went to bed and died in her sleep. I think it was a blood clot if I remember rightly.

BlouseAndSkirt · 10/11/2019 13:56

I have done that twice to myself Blush

Haffdonga · 10/11/2019 14:06

Ds did it to a friend on their prom night. Proper knocked him out and spent the evening in a&e instead of leavers ball.

Hope your MIL is feeling better.

Isadora2007 · 10/11/2019 14:10

@MsChatterbox what has the significance of the worker having special needs (having, not BEING btw) got to do with anything? And how did you possibly know the elderly persons diagnosis of arthritis? 🤔

Ninjakittysmellz · 10/11/2019 14:13

I am clearly going to hell as I keep giggling at these stories BlushGrin

I once was passing my brother a brick and accidentally knocked him out with it instead. I was only about 6 and was really confused as to why he just fell over - I thought he was pretending!

minmooch · 10/11/2019 14:15

I pushed shut my camper van door shut with my bottom. Couldn't understand why it wasn't shutting properly so pushed with all my weight. Took a second to realise my finger was as stopping it. Then I couldn't open the door as it was now wedged shut. Had my other hand with a box of eggs. Had to drop the eggs to release the door. Finger bled like a good in, lost the nail and it's grown back wonky ever since!

Ellie56 · 10/11/2019 14:16

I too thought this was a thread where OP was admitting to losing the plot and attacking an obnoxious MIL. Grin

Elderflower14 · 10/11/2019 14:18

Many years ago my sisters and I were changing the tax disc in our Mum's car. Just as my sister went to slam the door I decided the disc wasn't straight and put my arm in... Sis slammed the door ony arm... My Mum heard me screaming from the kitchen...

WillLokireturn · 10/11/2019 14:20

My friend once shut the boot down on his wife's head. He was beside himself. She had concussion and a huge bruised swollen area back of her head. ( She didn't hold it against him !)

OldEvilOwl · 10/11/2019 14:21

My old boss's husband opened a horse box ramp - as in a lorry, not a trailer - onto her head, I can still remember the sound it made (She was fine - we sent her into the house to rest 😬)

TooManyGlasses · 10/11/2019 14:26

Is anyone going to A&E with these 8-year-olds?!?

DadDadDad · 10/11/2019 14:28

37 posts in and no-one's yet complained about "another MIL-bashing* thread"? Grin

*literally

CymaticPrincess88 · 10/11/2019 14:30

My then SIL trapped her fingers in the car door once, then MIL didn't notice and locked the doors. I'm told it was quuuite painful..

tillytrotter1 · 10/11/2019 14:39

OH did a similar thing on Christmas morning, walked into the corner of the garage door, a bit of blood can go a long way. He was whisked up to A and E leaving me able to do the dinner without any 'help', it was blissful!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 10/11/2019 14:42

@Ellie56 I'd never get away with that 😁

CameraTime · 10/11/2019 14:43

I did the same to DS recently; I checked he was ok (he was fine), ushered him round to the side of the car to get in, didn't open the door fully before letting go, and the door swung shut and knocked him flying. Poor boy.

I once opened a car door and trapped my MIL’s fingers. She was holding on to the hinged side. Her fingers went black. Shock It was horrible, I felt so guilty. She’s my late-MIL these days and my ex-late-MIL now. I still feel guilty...

Xiaoxiong · 10/11/2019 15:06

I once slammed the door on my mum's foot, she was getting out of the car after me and I just forgot she was there.

No one can beat my DH though - as a teenager, he broke his finger by sitting on his own hand (which was under a cushion on the sofa). I still don't understand how this happened.

Straycatstrut · 10/11/2019 15:10

Ahh thought this was going to be way more interesting... ahem Grin...

That sounds so painful though, it's always one of my fears when my boys are hanging around near open car boots!

InsertFunnyUsername · 10/11/2019 15:15

Oh poor MIL Star

I was sitting in the back of my Aunties car, it was a 3 door so she had to let me out from her side, anyway she got out then I followed, she slammed the door in to my face. Big black eye and seeing stars. Our sink pipes burst so I was under the sink having a look, DP asked for a pan to help, without looking i passed a pan to behind me (did do it quite roughly) expecting him to have his hand ready. I turnt round to see him rolling around the wet floor. Got him right in the goolies.

Bluerussian · 10/11/2019 15:15

We've all done, similar and had it done to us. I do hope your mother in law is alright.

Today all I've done is break plate - smashed to smithereens on kitchen floor.

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 10/11/2019 15:21

Not much today - so far! - but I did once lock my MIL in the spare bedroom when she came to stay.

I won't elaborate on the backstory, but it was warranted.

Je regret rien Grin

mumwon · 10/11/2019 15:22

my ds had so many accidents when he was young I swear he had a season ticket at a & e - his asthma nurse said "at least its proving his lungs are working well!" His dear next up big ds accidently shut the boot hard on his fingers - when we opened the boot I half expected to find 4 finger ends in the boot (it was completely shut) but no! his fingers were still attached & unbroken (I never understood how he got away with that - although as a very active lad he had plenty of other accident he got away without much harm except for a few stiches here & there Grin)

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 10/11/2019 15:47

Many years ago when I was at primary school, my best friend accidentally (she says Hmm ) squished my finger in a door.. it was the side of the door with the hinge not the handle.. and chopped the top of my finger off. The teacher promptly threw up over me and best friend fainted...The rest of the class were sent to the gym hall and had a whale of a time playing games.
