The sooner they are banned from public sale the better Angry

They are very dangerous. I've always been surprised you can buy them in britain, in some cases with your weekly shopping.

Livingthedream12345 · 09/11/2019 21:39

We've had 9 consecutive nights where we live. It's been doggy stress hell. Especially tonight.

Thefemalekeithrichards · 09/11/2019 21:42

Same here - the ones that make the ground shake.
Incomprehensible really
Sad for wild nocturnal animals and our pets but at least they are safe and warm indoors

charactersonclothesaretrashy · 09/11/2019 21:43

My eldest has autism but thankfully she seems to enjoy fireworks. I know a lot of other kids with learning difficulties and special needs don't cope so well with the bangs and noise.

charactersonclothesaretrashy · 09/11/2019 21:44

Luckily in my area it's been quite wet recently so we haven't had it as bad as usual.

WeekendCarbs · 09/11/2019 21:45

I'm an NT adult and they're making me jump. They're just at the right intervals to think they've stopped too. Ridiculous.

We have them going on here. My normally chilled out cat is really unhappy.

PorpentinaScamander · 09/11/2019 21:48

Same here. I live in a row of small Victorian terraced houses with small gardens, surrounded by streets of small Victorian terraced houses with small gardens.
Can't see how its safe to set them off. They've been every night for the past 2 weeks and some nights haven't stopped until past midnight Angry

TokyoSushi · 09/11/2019 21:48

Same here, it's freezing and pouring with rain too Hmm

charactersonclothesaretrashy · 09/11/2019 21:59

The bastard banging away as I type 😂

ozymandiusking · 09/11/2019 22:03

Here as well. They are so loud. I think it should be illegal to sell them to the public. Just public displays on the 5th and that should be it.

They are really pretty though. You should be thankful that you can see them without going out to a cold display. Just can't please everyone but no need to act like it's crime of the century! I've been doing fireworks without any complaints for the past few nights and even had a thank you!

Goodnightseamer · 12/11/2019 00:13

Christ but some people like to moan. Yeah I think everything I don't like should be banned. There's a long list and whingers especially whingers with dogs are at the top.

Goodnightseamer · 12/11/2019 00:16

Can't see how it's safe to set them off.

Apart from looking out of your window at the non carnage and non damage, you mean? That type of being unable to see?

RLOU30 · 12/11/2019 00:20

What about whingers with a toddler waking up screaming every half hour ? Oh pleaseee can I be on your list? And @sahej your on a wind up tonight aren't you ? Ever thought you had no complaints because we are all inside trying to consol babies and animals while your repeatedly letting off fireworks this week?

BlackeyedSusan · 12/11/2019 00:20

Yeah, I know this was three days ago, but OP you are lucky they were not going off at 1.15 am. like here.

but the think they have stopped and randomly start again thing is shit. we had more fireworks going off tonight.

RLOU30 · 12/11/2019 00:22

*console

Goodnightseamer · 12/11/2019 00:27

It's almost as though other people don't live their lives based on what you want at all! The nerve.

RLOU30 · 12/11/2019 00:32

You must be some kind of stupid to not realise it isn't about what we want -it is about the distress we see caused to people/animals that we can't explain the situation to.

Does not letting off fireworks on 10th november cause distress to anyone ? No. It's about being considerate of everyone around you.

Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich · 12/11/2019 06:45

Let’s ban outside cat ownership while we’re at it. If you want a cat keep in in your house. Don’t buy a creature that will come in my garden, dig up my plants, and shit all over the place. I get that all year round. Your cat has to put up with fireworks for a few nights.

bellinisurge · 12/11/2019 06:52

I don't have an outdoor cat so she doesn't shit in your garden. She still hears fireworks from indoors. And she's a chilled out kind of cat. Being freaked out by inconsiderate tossers.

RLOU30 · 12/11/2019 06:54

What about foxes? Badgers? I've got a big arse badger that knocks its way through my garden fence at night shall we ban them? Now, I don't have any cats but that is one ridiculous comparison. Perhaps make a thread about it though ?
I'm pretty sure it's not "a few nights" either as of it were, you wouldn't see threads such as this every bloody year. It's weeks.

Goodnightseamer · 12/11/2019 17:56

I've got a big arse badger

You want to get someone to take a look at that, son.

Sahej · 12/11/2019 23:29

@RLOU30 you should have thought about that before then. Did you think fireworks would stop existing just because you had a kid and got a pet. If you can't see my good advice don't read it
