Our last book was Three Women by Lisa Taddeo (which I loved and can’t wait to discuss tomorrow night at book club). We each bring a suggestion for the next read, but this month I feel a bit stuck! Any recommendations? Thanks!

Definitely Educated, The Lost Man or Where the Crawdads Sing.
Just finished The Flower Girls really enjoyed that.
The Passengers could give rise to an interesting discussion on where technology is going.

Just ordered this for our book group next week!

Identity Crisis, by Ben Elton.
Lots of discussion worthy material in that! Very topical.

DrIrisFenby I wonder if we have the same book group - we did indeed love Home Going ... Hmm Smile

We also loved The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne. I found it recommended several times on another thread here - it's absolutely wonderful.

Several people have mentioned Jane Harper; I have read The Dry and am currently reading The Lost Man; I would highly recommend either of those.

Purpletigers · 05/11/2019 22:46

I’m currently reading The Beekeeper of Aleppo . It’s very good .

Ooh JuneFromBethesda - our most recent book was You Don't Know Me by Imran Mahmood (which incidentally also elicited a very good topical discussion). Does that ring any bells?!

Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
Based on a true story, really interesting and well written.

Ah DrIrisFenby no, we haven't read that one. I'll make a note of the title though, thanks!
