Thinking of buying this house... but not sure it's got enough plug sockets?

I'm disappointed that there are none in the lawn or on the fence. For that reason - I'm out!! Wink

BrieAndChilli · 04/11/2019 11:04

probably full of PCS and servers creating fake online companies/stealing peoples credit card details/creating fake reviews.

The only thing it the house itself - kitchens/bathrooms etc are well kept and quite new. You'd expect a house full of weither cannibis or rammed full of people on pcs to have trashed the house a bit more!!

CrunchyCarrot · 04/11/2019 11:11

My DP loves it, we put in a ton of sockets when we moved into our house (which is far smaller than that one!!). He thinks they must have had loads of TVs and games devices all over the place. Which explains why the lawn is so unkempt. Grin

Stefoscope · 04/11/2019 11:11

It's odd that there are that many in every room except the kitchen. My guess is a family of hardcore gamers or reptile enthusiasts!

Justlovedogs · 04/11/2019 11:15

ConcentricCircles There's four doubles on the back wall of the conservatory, though, so I think the garden's covered...
I was just disappointed not to see any in the shower room Grin

willdoitinaminute · 04/11/2019 11:17

Cannabis farm was my first thought also the amount of spot lights are also excessive. You wouldn’t need street lights on their road.

DistanceCall · 04/11/2019 11:19

Yep. Cannabis. They must have been doing quite well, given the price of the house!

BrassTactical · 04/11/2019 11:21

I just got Trypophobia from a house Confused

clairethewitch70 · 04/11/2019 11:24

I complained to DH yesterday about lack of sockets in our house, especially the hallway. Have to show him this, although it might give him ideas as a joke Grin

Iggypoppie · 04/11/2019 11:26

Could it have been an office of some sort? (Kind of dull answer right enough...)

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/11/2019 11:26

Look at the many downlighters too - they're all arranged around the edges of the ceilings rather than spread around. This might suggest some sort of office work/lights over desks, but even then they surely wouldn't need so many??

Love the post about rebelling after an Amish upbringing though Grin

SummerBreezeAutumnLeaves · 04/11/2019 11:26

I was more shocked when I saw that it is £1,350,000 lol

Passthecherrycoke · 04/11/2019 11:26

It must’ve been to run a business?

MrsGideon · 04/11/2019 11:30

@Puzzledandpissedoff Right?! Flipping heck you'd need sunglasses even to look at it from about 5 miles away

And no sockets whatsoever in the kitchen? Did they never cook?!

ScrambledEggForBrains · 04/11/2019 11:35

Clark Griswald needs this house lol

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 04/11/2019 11:36

Yeah thats a former growhouse.

I'd imagine the reason it's not been decommissioned is because the owners are currently serving time.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 04/11/2019 11:37

Lovely kitchen but yea , could do with far less sockets . Hahahaa

Cannabis farm fits as not many could afford over a million on a house I would have thought.

Travis1 · 04/11/2019 11:38

That's totally been used for porn. OP check out porn hub, see if you recognise any rooms......

StormTreader · 04/11/2019 11:39

Genuinely surprised there are no plug sockets in the shower cubicle!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/11/2019 11:40

And no sockets whatsoever in the kitchen? Did they never cook?!

Well, there are a few - but if it was an office thing I guess they wouldn't need much more than somewhere to make a cuppa or whatever?

Either way I'd want some very thorough enquiries made about its past before I bought anything like that

Illberidingshotgun · 04/11/2019 11:47

Can an MNer nearby make an appt to see this house, and quiz the estate agent?

I would hazard a guess at cryptocurrency mining.

SoupDragon · 04/11/2019 11:48

And they aren't even all straight. You'd have thought they would have been well practised at putting them in.

drspouse · 04/11/2019 11:51

I thought it looks too nice for a cannabis farm - yes the EA would have cleaned it but it doesn't need refurbishment, no real sign of water/earth damage - I thought porn set too.

SoupDragon · 04/11/2019 11:51

To be fair, they aren't all power sockets. Some are phone/Ethernet/TV ones.

So' probably a covert spy base.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 04/11/2019 11:51

Surely if they were all used at once it would overload the ring-mains?
