For 1.3m that garden is bloody rubbish.

longtimelurkerhelen · 03/11/2019 22:19

From the link with it furnished, what the fuck is this?

Yep, it's a weird sex chair.

Ostanovka · 03/11/2019 22:19

There's cabling hanging out of the wall on the front of the house, at the top.

MustDust · 03/11/2019 22:21

Well, I think you've just broken DH, who is an electrician and of the school of thought 'there are never too many'. All he managed was 'what the fuck?' and a look of shock.

GlamGiraffe · 03/11/2019 22:25

Person with loads of TVs sky boxes, DVD players and whatever other stuff they have nowadays. Music fanatic with big stereo in units and speakers which jeedplugs. Gaming systems. (All in every room) tropical fish tank. Loads are aerial type outlets for cat5 cables TV etc. I can see a tech nerd easily doing that!

I on the other hand put 5 double sockets in my kitchen and 5 in the bedroom and a concealed one for the TV. Electrician was having a meltdown saying I had an obsession with sockets. They all get used. Mine are all the same colours as the wall paper in the rooms and not silver- if only I'd thought of that, darn it. I could have had liafs and made them an art installation-feature😂

Wizzbangpop · 03/11/2019 22:30

Well the guy who designed that didn't design hotels where there's 2 sockets in the entire room and neither are anywhere near the mirror for the hairdryer

frazzledasarock · 03/11/2019 22:31

Apparently premises were used as offices. Why on earth they’d keep the electric points when converting it to a house is anybody’s guess.

Pieceofpurplesky · 03/11/2019 22:33

DS would still run out Confused

Yoohoo16 · 03/11/2019 22:43

3 for 2 in screwfix. Can’t ignore an offer like that.

Temeraire · 03/11/2019 22:44

I’m team “no such thing as too many sockets”. I personally wouldn’t put in that many but if I were converting back from office to house then I don’t think I could bring myself to take any out. What if I spent money to remove them and then they were in exactly the right place? In the photos with furniture in it’s not the sockets which are making it look hideous.

For the sake of full disclosure I’m currently mid-building work and everything in the house is plugged into a spiders web of extension cables in hazardous daisy chain formation so my judgement may be skewed.

BarbaraofSeville · 03/11/2019 23:42

The owners must be the people a relative of mine bought a house from, and if it was, they have really gone up in the world.

She bought a one up one down (literally tiny one bedroom back to back terrace that opened straight onto the street with no hallway and a combined living room/kitchen downstairs and there were thirteen plugholes in the bedroom. It probably cost less than the stamp duty on the house in the OPs link.

safariboot · 04/11/2019 01:10

Office makes some sense. Some.

I think I would at the very least have changed them for white ones. White would sort of blend in, the metal is just so obtrusive. The lights too.

picklemepopcorn · 04/11/2019 07:33

What makes it particularly leprous are the light switches for the multiple light systems. Each room has recessed spots, sidewall spots, and low recessed wall spots. There are lots of switches, as well as sockets.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 04/11/2019 10:12

Pity the owner wasn’t a gardener. Can you imagine what the garden would look like with the same enthusiasm? As it is it looks shit. The house just looks bloody weird. Any buyer is going to have their work cut out trying to hide all those sockets.

AliceLittle · 04/11/2019 12:23

I wouldn't like to see their electric bill.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 04/11/2019 19:35

I’ve just shown it to my dh who works in the electrical industry and his reaction was also ‘what the fuck?’ Grin

He also said it could be some work getting rid of them.

CatToddlerUprising · 04/11/2019 20:35

Extortionate price for a pretty shit area too
