Have you ever fallen in love with a place...

...and if so, did you do anything about it?

Recently I spent a couple of nights at the coast and the best way I can describe it is that my soul fell in love with the place. I’m seriously thinking of upping stocks and moving there. (I am in a bit of a midlife rethink place in general).

Has anyone else ever felt like this and what did you do about it?

A lot of people saying London! I wonder if I take it for granted because I live here.

For me the dream is to live in Cornwall by the sea - but DH is a Londoner through and through and wouldn’t have it. Plus our whole lives are here.

Italy for me! I remember getting off the plane the first time I visited as a 17 year old university student and having this overwhelming 'Ahhhhhhhhh, this is where I'm supposed to be! I spent a week walking around Florence in a daze of awe and love. It changed my life, sounds dramatic I know, but it was a revelation that you could travel to places that made you feel like that - previous holidays had been with family to places like Tenerife.
It started a 30 year love affair with travel and Italy in particular, especially Venice which I visit every year for the past 8 years and would live there. we have probably been to Italy 25 times now
I truly feel I lived there in some former life (I don't believe in reincarnation)

Another Scotland obsessive here. I would love to live in Edinburgh and have to go regularly to get my "fix". I also love Plockton, North Berwick, the Cairngorms around Nethy Bridge, and Glen Affric.

Montreal. Doubt very much I’ll ever be living there though.

I’ve loved reading these stories and learning about your experiences and perspectives! Thank you.

Work has been crazy so far this week, and I’m a long way from my Place. I think I need to find a free weekend in my calendar and get me booked in again.

I haven't been there but the first time I read Heidi, I fell in love with Bad Ragatz and the small village up in the Alps where Heidi grew up in. I've since read the book a million times, and my heart aches to go there. I know that's where I'm meant to live.
