It's been miserable here all weekend so I've decided its time for some comfort food
My resolve to eat more positively to combat the winter blues is on hold
So I'm making toad in the hole with onion gravy, mashed swede, cauli, broccoli and carrots
Followed by syrup sponge and custard
And a nice red 🍷 I've been saving
Hopefully will combat the back to work blues Haloween Sad

I don't know yet. I'm going to Tesco with DS1 as soon as I've managed to get DS2 off to sleep so we will choose something there. You are all making me want a roast but DH is ill so it seems a waste.

Lentil Soup
Steak Pie, Mashed potatoes, carrots and peas.
I bought a chocolate cake from M&S this morning so will have that with ice cream.

Back to school tomorrow for all of us (except dp who wasn’t ever off!) - this week has absolutely flown by. This time a week ago we were all sitting in a nice warm pub by a fire after a long walk, relishing the week off.
Roast chicken, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire’s (with every roast!), roast potatoes, carrots, kale and probably green beans with gravy.
Dds has made tiramisu for pudding.
We won’t eat until about 7 but I’m already feeling peckish...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/11/2019 14:32

I'll decide once the Sainsbo's man arrives, depending on the dates on things. Maybe mushroom risotto or maybe black bean soup. I'v actually forgotten what else I ordered - might have to start writing meals down when I'm doing the order!

Definitely bread and butter pudding for afters, because I've got bread and eggs that need using up.

BabyMoonPie · 03/11/2019 14:35

Enchiladas. Can't wait

Potnoodledoo · 03/11/2019 14:40

Kraggle · 03/11/2019 14:41

I’m attempting corned beef and potato pie for the first time but my filling had been cooking for over half an hour and the potatoes are still a bit hard so it’s not going well so far!

BearSoFair · 03/11/2019 14:56

Sausage ragu, just need to decide whether to have it with pasta or polenta.

milliefiori · 03/11/2019 14:58

Spag bol. Usually have a Sunday roast but as it's the last day of half term DC get to choose and chose this.

mintcorneto · 03/11/2019 18:14

Pan fried haddock with a lemon and roasted tomato risotto followed by a GU salted caramel pudding

Jungfraujoch · 03/11/2019 18:16

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, peas, sweetcorn and carrots. Yorkshire’s and gravy and stuffing!

MollyMorals · 03/11/2019 18:19

Salmon, green beans, asparagus and broccoli.

Swishyswash · 03/11/2019 18:21

Roast leg of lamb, roast potatoes and butternut squash, carrots, cabbage and broccoli. Gravy and mint sauce.

Finchy19 · 03/11/2019 18:23

Cottage pie. I have fallen off the cooking wagon, so this is the start of my attempt to get back into planning and cooking for scratch. Made enough for 2 so one is going in the freezer for an easy dinner later in the month.

carrie74 · 03/11/2019 18:24

Another roast here, beef tonight with potatoes we've harvested from the garden (new garden, so these are holdovers from the previous owner), roasted, and then broccoli, courgette and pak Choi to accompany.

We had toad in the hole last night, so no Yorkshires today.

Having just moved house with a bigger garden, I seem to have become some kind of rural stepford wife. I made chutney last night with the windfall apples, and jam today with the harvested grapes. There's a few more potatoes in the ground, but then we're done with our inherited harvest for this year! Having dug over the veg bed, and being enthusiastic I'm now researching if there are any winter veg we should be planting now...

Ragwort · 03/11/2019 18:25

Fish & chips, seems an odd choice for a Sunday night but hopefully nice for a change Grin.

WutheringFrights · 03/11/2019 18:28

Sausages, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, mushroom gravy followed by pineapple upside down pudding and custard. I genuinely feel that I have succeeded in parenting this weekend 😂 we’ve even tidied the house and got rid of a load of old unused toys!

pourmeanotherglass · 03/11/2019 18:30

Roast beef for the adults today. Teens are having roast root veg with veggie/ vegan sausages. We don't eat a lot of meat but DH had a craving for roast beef today. It's just resting now. They will probably be some leftovers for my weekday sandwiches.

golddustwomen · 03/11/2019 18:30

We had cottage pie with broccoli, green beans and Yorkshires!!

troppibambini · 03/11/2019 18:31

Roast beef and all the trimmings. Chocolate fudge cake and ice cream for pudding.

Stationeryqueen · 03/11/2019 18:37

Pasta Bolognese, (out of spaghetti.)

Followed by a forgotten Christmas pudding which we found lurking in the back of the pantry, it was out of last years hamper. Best before is Sept 19, but we are going to risk it.....wish us luck!
