McDonalds Via UberEats

Just because I'm curious I wanted to ask if anyone else keeps getting struck with missing items from McDonalds when delivered?

We've had a crazy horrible week so as a 'treat' we had a McDonalds delivery tonight.

We've had a handful since they started delivering in my area around a year ago and thankfully on the whole most were complete (the most that was missing was the odd paid for (the 20p) sauces but now twice we've had a missing Big Mac (the other was the full BM meal).

Local friends have reported the same - that most are okay but they have had the odd missing item too so wondering if it's a wider thing? Starting to worry that UE will think I'm bulling them up now it's happened again!

(Ah first world problems Grin )

I can’t help as I’ve never had one delivered - just always presume they’re cold and horrible!
I sometimes ask for something added in my burger and unsalted chips as at least this way they are cooked fresh and you get your food hot Grin

WomensRightsAreContraversial · 01/11/2019 20:49

That's my big question about it too.. isn't the McDonalds cold by the time you get it?

Lj8893 · 01/11/2019 20:53

I ordered a subway through Uber eats the other day, it arrived I took a bite out of my sandwich to discover it was cold and ham. I’m a vegetarian 🤢
Couldn’t get hold of anyone at Uber eats so rang subway to be accused of lying and then told I would need to re order my order and then apply for a refund through ubereats.

This was 5 days ago and I’m still trying to get ubereats to refund me Hmm

PimmsPleaseee · 01/11/2019 20:57

I work at McDonald’s and unfortunately it’s the McDonald’s staff missing your food items out 😢 Uber eats literally just collect it and take it away!

IndieTara · 01/11/2019 21:01

I used Uber eats once for MacDonalds, it arrived stone cold and DD's meal was completely wrong

Nottsangel2015 · 01/11/2019 21:03

Yes 🙋🏼‍♀️ we order from McDonald's via Uber eats and pretty much every time we have missing items. Uber eats have always refunded but it's still annoying when your missing the item! To be honest tho when we have gone to the drive through of the same McDonald's they have missed things from the other I just presumed they had crap staff! X

OctoberLovers · 01/11/2019 21:07

Free mcdonalds food tomorrow morning!
With UberEats

OctoberLovers · 01/11/2019 21:08

I went through a drive through not so long ago, the 7up was just fizzy water.

The next time i went, They missed the burger out and all i had was a bun with ketchup (The mind boggles how that one happened)

beckyvardy · 01/11/2019 21:10

I've only ordered twice but it was all there if a little cold

stucknoue · 01/11/2019 21:17

Here they proved that the drivers were taking items. My dd worked for McDonald's and they got fed up with being told they messed up, but they noticed a pattern only certain drivers so they photographed the contents before packing them up and low and behold the chicken sandwich was missing, always the chicken and always big orders

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 01/11/2019 21:19

Mine have always been fine - but I live about four minutes away by car, so it's still hot!

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 01/11/2019 22:38

LJ - have you gone through the 'i have a problem with a past/delivered order and messaged that way? It would be handy if you took a pic at the time too if you haven't. I've done it each time and I'm refunded within 24 hours for the missing items.

It's def the McDonald's staff missing them as the bags are sealed - unless UE driver is an expert at unsticking the bag and resticking it up without them noticing ;) :)

It's not exactly the warmest I'll admit but I'm not overly far away from where they are and we always order around 6.30pmish (small town so not too busy/clearer roads) so we've never had a totally stone cold one.

I don't get why they don't have a section for you to add on the 'free' dips like the ketchup/sweet curry/bbq ones cos surely a lot of people want those? (perhaps that's the point -c os they don't make anything on them)

I've literally just been refunded for tonight's missing big mac, they refunded the entire big mac meal rather than the burger itself which was even better considering I had a fiver off in the first place 😂👍🏻

Based on that I Definitely recommend going back into the bit I mentioned above and hopefully they shall refund you very quickly, lj 😊

Yep I’ve done all that, there’s been over 20 emails between myself and then about it. They are just saying they won’t refund it as it’s not their policy and they won’t apologise as it wasent their fault.

OhMsBeliever · 01/11/2019 23:02

When it first started our first few orders had something missing but they seem to have got the hang of it now.

It sounds like I order lots of McDonald's on Uber eats. I don't. I do.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 01/11/2019 23:02

Very very strange! If you want to escalate it, the general manager for the UKs email address is [email protected] (Jamie heywood)

OP posts:
Lj8893 · 01/11/2019 23:05

Ooo thanks Cotton! I think I will escalate it, not because of the money, just because of the awful customer service!

Blueemeraldagain · 01/11/2019 23:07

I ordered once via my laptop and watched about 12 couriers accept and then reject picking up my order. My order took over 75 mins to arrive (McDonald’s is about 12 mins drive away). I complained via Facebook messenger and got a full refund 2 days later.

My order was hot and correct when it (eventually) arrived.

heartsonacake · 02/11/2019 01:27

I sometimes ask for something added in my burger and unsalted chips as at least this way they are cooked fresh and you get your food hot

CakeNinja This will work for the fries (although it creates extra work, it’d be nicer to just ask for fresh), but not for the burger.

Ready made burgers are a thing of the past. Sandwiches/burgers aren’t made in advance and held until bought anymore. Everything is made to order now, so it doesn’t matter if you customise it; you’ll be getting it freshly made on the assembly line either way.

CakeNinja · 02/11/2019 07:47

At our local branch, ready made burgers are still very much in use. 3 lines of different burgers were sat lined up the last time I went and my quarter pounder definitely wasn’t cooked fresh or hot and this was instore- I wouldn’t want to order a McDonald’s and wait for delivery!!

ShirleyPhallus · 02/11/2019 07:53

Uber eats always misses stuff out but it’s so easy to complain on the app and they’ve always refunded me right away

If I’m ordering McDonald’s I always add something extra in case something gets missed off!

bluebury · 02/11/2019 07:59

Yes, ordered twice both times items were missing so haven't bothered since.

UE customer services were awful, didn't want to refund me at all cos it wasn't their fault.

First time all the sauces were missing, they wouldn't budge on sending replacements or refunding the cost of the sauces which we'd paid for. They didn't seem to get that it was an issue at all, but chips and nuggets without sauce is a huge issue for some children (and adults).

Second time one of the burgers was missing. After pushing it a bit they gave me a partial refund for that part of the individual meal (not partial for the whole order) and again refused to send a replacement. They couldn't seem to get their head around the fact that person still needed to eat.

Littlepond · 02/11/2019 08:03

I won’t ever order McDonald’s delivery again. There is always something missing!! They got my entire order wrong once!

SellFridges · 02/11/2019 08:20

I’ve only used UberEats once and it was fine but every time I have used the McD’s App and collected something has been wrong 🤷‍♀️

heartsonacake · 02/11/2019 09:43

CakeNinja There are less than 50 of those style of McDonalds left now (out of 1200+), so it’s possible that your local is one of them.

But within the next couple of years they’ll all be gone.
