McDonalds Via UberEats

Just because I'm curious I wanted to ask if anyone else keeps getting struck with missing items from McDonalds when delivered?

We've had a crazy horrible week so as a 'treat' we had a McDonalds delivery tonight.

We've had a handful since they started delivering in my area around a year ago and thankfully on the whole most were complete (the most that was missing was the odd paid for (the 20p) sauces but now twice we've had a missing Big Mac (the other was the full BM meal).

Local friends have reported the same - that most are okay but they have had the odd missing item too so wondering if it's a wider thing? Starting to worry that UE will think I'm bulling them up now it's happened again!

(Ah first world problems Grin )

cotton

Ds1 gets mcdonalds from uber eats and things are missing on a very frequent basis

He has been complaining everytime something is missing but now he has been banned from uber eats...so they obviously dont like criticism

I regularly find there’s something missing- usually my Big Mac despite me only ordering the Big Mac meal- kids meals are always spot on, but I end up hungry 😑 naffs me right off and I’ve asked for it to be sent out and they refuse. Last time they didn’t even bother refunding me despite my calling the mds it was coming from and then admitting my burger had been left out.

It’s the fault of McDonald’s not ubereats- McDonald’s prepares and seals the bags. McDonald’s have entered into the contract with ubereats and are completely overwhelmed by the online orders

ellendegeneres · 02/11/2019 11:06

*them admitting not then

Other take away food is available. Choose that instead and think of your health,

Not really the point of take away food is it, health.

That’s interesting @heartsonacake - didn’t realise they were so rare!!

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 02/11/2019 18:54

A family member worked for ubereats.

Some of the couriers started to refuse to accept the Macdonalds work due to being messed about (orders not ready promptly etc, being kept waiting for ages), which led to complaints.

Lhastingsmua · 02/11/2019 19:00

McDonalds had an Uber Eats promotion earlier today (free delivery) but of course, my local store was “unavailable” on Uber Eats during the promotional period 🙄

Once I had a Deliveroo driver call me in exasperation about the restaurant I ordered from, he had been waiting there since he accepted my order and the restaurant hadn’t actually prepared my food for 30 minutes. He was profusely apologising even thought it wasn’t his fault, I actually felt really bad for him as it seems like restaurants do mess the drivers around frequently.

AntCrawley · 02/11/2019 19:06

Always cold and missing.

JigsawsAreInPieces · 02/11/2019 19:08

No one delivers fast food to my village. Sad We have a part-time chip shop open 4 evenings 4-8 and that's it. No pub, either unless we drive to the next village.

I really fancy a maccy dees now. Blush

SisterSistine · 02/11/2019 19:13

They missed the burger from my daughter's happy meal. It wasnt even a big order, just for the two of us. It's so annoying because even though they always refund, you're still stuck with a child who only has chips for dinner.

heartsonacake · 02/11/2019 22:20

CakeNinja Yeah it’s because McDonalds has an entirely new business model and focus now, part of which is that food is made to order and not held.

The few stores left that you describe are McDonalds old business model, but some are taking longer to convert or having trouble doing so for various reasons.

monica1985 · 02/11/2019 23:33

MC Donald's fault....almost always. I used to deliver for Uber Eats more than 1year ago ,before getting pregnant and I did have lots of problems while delivering for them. I never any food ,I will never open the delivery bags from MC Donald's but I'll get lots of reports as some food is missing or they've got the wrong order. Not my fault ....I only pick up what they give me and deliver it.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 03/11/2019 09:54

I have contacted McDonalds directly ( i didn't see why UE should get the issue because they are only the delivery agency) the very first time the big mac was missing and all they would say (the customer service email) was 'contact Uber Eats' because they essentially had nothing to do with it - which isn't true, it's obvious it's them missing it out. They wouldn't be drawn on it at all they were adamant that it all had to go through UE.

The 2nd time I rang the store direct - all they said was that they would 'retrain the staff' (rubbish basically!)

I've only ordered twice but it has always been good with all items accounted for. However I live in a big city and food delivery is a big thing in my area. You see the delivery drivers out and about all the time.

Lhastingsmua · 03/11/2019 10:00

That’s surprising- McDonald’s are pretty generous with food vouchers so I’m surprised they didn’t offer to send you some.

Uber eats should handle the refund, if they refuse to refund you can always explain the situation to your bank and open a dispute- with low value transactions your bank will probably refund you themselves
