Hi,

It is half term here - Nottinghamshire, and I was looking at places to take my 3 year old to (Thomas land, cbbies land, think tank in Birmingham are all possibilities)
Is it half term where you are? Thinking about how busy it will be! Thanks!

Essex are having a late half term - off next week. I think most places are off this week.

MrsLoganEcholls · 21/10/2019 09:49

South Wales, half term next week here.

Meltedicicle · 21/10/2019 09:49

We live just outside Birmingham and I have children at schools in both Birmingham and Dudley borough. Both our half terms are next week so Thomasland and Thinktank should be relatively quiet with the only caveat being that Thinktank often has school trips visiting.

Thomas Land is way better than cbeebies land and Birmingham schools haven't broken up yet.

poorbuthappy · 21/10/2019 10:10

Not half term in South Wales and Bristol.

Comefromaway · 21/10/2019 10:12

Dd is on half term this week. Ds is on half term next week!

Pengweng · 21/10/2019 10:12

South Manchester and we are off this week but the school around the corner aren't off until next week. I think our school is early this year though. Can't wait for the 8 week christmas term. Hmm

HoneyBee03 · 21/10/2019 10:27

It'shalf term in Devon and Cornwall. My commute this morning was a dream.

megletthesecond · 21/10/2019 10:28

No. Hampshire.
Our half term is next week.

Tensixtysix · 21/10/2019 10:28

Gloucestershire, not off until end of this week.

wendz86 · 21/10/2019 10:29

Not in hertfordshire.

MirandaWest · 21/10/2019 10:30

York - break up on Friday

bellylaughs · 21/10/2019 10:32

My DC are at schools in Surrey and London boroughs (we live in the border) and have different half terms 😩London borough this week, Surrey next week. First time this has ever happened in 10 years for us!

DappledThings · 21/10/2019 11:15

Yes in Kent

Whattodoabout · 21/10/2019 11:21

Nope, mine break up Thursday (North Yorkshire). I’m thrilled because I checked when other schools in the area break up and it’s Friday so the local pumpkin patch should be fairly empty on Friday! It’s usually absolutely manic.

listsandbudgets · 21/10/2019 11:25

Think Tank will probably be fine as Birmingham don't finish until Friday

OhYum · 21/10/2019 12:08

Next week for DD, we're in Staffordshire.

Blobby10 · 21/10/2019 13:21

Leicestershire had half term last week (was a blissful experience on the roads coming into work and going home each day!!!!) so maybe Twycross Zoo a possibility? Or Twinlakes at Melton?

MaryTJ · 21/10/2019 14:32

Isle of Wight - most schools have just begun a 2 week break but some only have 1 (next week). I have two young children and at this age we do walks, beaches, parks, bike rides etc, whatever the weather - save your money! Seriously, does a 3 year old really appreciate a theme park?? Don't they always end up over tired and crying?? Can't think of anything worse myself!!

SoyDora · 21/10/2019 14:33

Had ours last week (north west Leicestershire), back now. We did Thomas land last week and it was really quiet. 5 and 4 year olds had a great day.

confusedofengland · 21/10/2019 14:54

We break up on Friday.

I think Cbeebies land & Alton Towers will be busy as they put on special events for half term. Not sure about Thomas land though.

Comefromaway · 21/10/2019 15:27

Its Scarefest at Alton Towers

NanooCov · 21/10/2019 16:29

We live in Bromley borough and are on half term hols in Derbyshire currently. We went to Heights of Abraham today and it was great - busy. If not massively so. Thinking of Thomas Land later in the week (maybe tomorrow) but wondering if my 2 year old will be frustrated at not being able to go on many rides? My almost 5 year old should be fine.

TravellingSpoon · 21/10/2019 16:30

I am nottinghamshire here too. Have one at school and one off which is a nightmare.

Dd was trying everything in her power to stay at home today. She could have won an oscar!

Stravapalava · 21/10/2019 16:55

Leicestershire was last week. Maybe try the Space Centre / Abbey Pumping Station / Jump Giants in Wymeswold? Also Bradgate Park etc won't be crowded.
