After some confusion at the hospital they're finally inducing me! Wish me luck as I have no idea what to expect :)

How exciting! Good luck!!!

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 20/10/2019 22:40

Good luck! I was induced with DS and my one piece of advice is don’t be a martyr - it can be intense (especially the drip) so if you want pain relief just ask for it. It’s all worth it when you have your squishy baby!

Rainbowhairdontcare · 20/10/2019 23:07

Aww thank you! It's extra special because baby will be born exactly one year after we miscarried our first.

Best of luck to you.

Hope all goes well.

I had a lovely induction. Had our own ensuite room. Pessary in, 22h of niggles, established labour for 80 minutes. Sorted (was DC3 though Grin)

heidipi · 20/10/2019 23:31

Ooh good luck! I had 2 inductions, both fine, worked first time no drip - things didn't start happening til about 8 hours after the pessary, then born about 7 hrs after that. Try to get some rest and do some walking when things get going if you can. Don't unpack and spread the contents of your bag all round the room in case you have to move in a hurry (I only did that the first time!)

Autumn2019 · 20/10/2019 23:41

Good luck OP. Wish you a safe and easy delivery. Hopefully it won't be too long before you get to hold your little bundle of joy in your arms.

Onacleardayyoucansee · 20/10/2019 23:43

How exciting!

Go with the flow.

Let us know how you get on. Bear

Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 01:25

So excited for you, @Rainbowhairdontcare. Are you having a little boy or a girl? Do you have a name picked?

Are your pains regular contractions yet? What's next - will you be examined soon?

Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 01:47

We're having a boy! His name is Diego Antonio. I'm just in horrible period type pains territory. Worse than contractions because they're always there

OP posts:
cockingup · 21/10/2019 07:06

Is it your first baby?
How are things going?

Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 07:25

He's my second but my first was breech 9 years ago. She never came close to my hips so all of this is so new to me!

OP posts:
Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 07:25

I'm having period like pains, they're fairly strong so I'm thinking I'm probably ready for the first day stage

OP posts:
cockingup · 21/10/2019 11:54

Gosh, it can be a slow process can't it? How are things now? What are you planning for pain relief? You've got this!

Stickysnot · 21/10/2019 12:04

Hope everything is going well

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 21/10/2019 12:12

Good luck! Hope all goes smoothly for you and Diego!

Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 12:15

They won't take me to the delivery unit until 24hrs have passed. It's so slow but I prefer this than waiting at home hoping that labour will establish itself.

Thank you so much for the good wishes!!

Biggie123 · 21/10/2019 12:20

I had a great experience. I had t have the the 24 hr pessary and then the stronger one and then he finally started to come all on his own. Good luck and enjoy those cuddles. I'm very excited on your behalf. My gosh, i loved those days.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 13:31

I can't wait to see his chubby cheeks! Just woke up from a nap. DH is napping too.

Can feel contractions but no rhythm just yet.

cockingup · 21/10/2019 15:00

Oooh you'll reward us with a photo once you've done all the hard work, won't you?

Come on, Diago!! We're ready! ❤️

Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 18:04

I'm still waiting on the day assesment unit eating to be taken to the labour ward. All expectations of being discharged today are gone, but not long now

OP posts:
Rainbowhairdontcare · 21/10/2019 19:40

Having extremely regular contractions that are virtually painless!

cockingup · 22/10/2019 00:11

Oh goodness - looks like things were slowly picking up a few hours ago. Any more active now? You must be exhausted!

Katinski · 22/10/2019 00:23
