Just seen a post on Facebook...

OP posts:
ememem84 · 21/10/2019 08:54

I read this in the fail this morning. They appparently claim £170 benefits a week. Although it didn’t specify what these are. Tax credits child benefit no idea?

I am astounded how they cope with that many kids. And especially so many littlies. I have ds (2) and Dd (12 weeks) and struggle to cope sometimes.

I read somewhere that she really enjoys pregnancy - I didn’t hate it but no way would I do it 20+ times. No thanks!

Dorsetdays · 21/10/2019 08:55

Princess the difference is I don’t really care if she chooses to have 20+ children so whether I would do that or not is kind of irrelevant.

My point is that I don’t sew a need for the nasty personal comments that are merely supposition. It adds nothing to the debate.

PrincessRaven · 21/10/2019 09:04

Dorsetdays, so you dont care that a 13 year old child was impregnated by an adult (only just but still an adult), you dont care that someone has 20+ children, most likely due to the trauma they had in their younger days, you dont care that the female body is not really designed to have so many babies without problems, you dont care that there are children possibly being neglected, you dont care?

And that makes you the better person?

NoSauce · 21/10/2019 09:10

I take it you’re one those on FB commenting how amazing, how exciting, what good news this is Dorsetdays? There’s thousands of them.

surely it would be most efficient to post a thread when sue r isn't pregnant?

Skyejuly · 21/10/2019 09:13

She has been pregnant so much since 14 that it really needs investigating tbh

PhilSwagielka · 21/10/2019 09:16

I wonder how much attention and praise they'd be getting if they weren't white.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 21/10/2019 09:20

Call me cynical but I suspect now it’s less about the need for babies and more about churning them out for the media.
Let’s be honest the money from the publicity must come in handy with all those kids, and sooner or later it’s going to dry up when they become yesterdays news. By popping out more babies she’s keeping them at the forefront.

As a mother of 4 I can safely say she can’t possibly be a good parent to all of them...there is no way on Earth you can sit on the end of their beds and listen to their woes when you’ve got that many (what 15 at home?) my 4 can take a good 20 minutes each to have their say-that’s 5 hours if you’ve got 15 to listen to Hmm.

“She has been pregnant so much since 14 that it really needs investigating tbh”

What needs investigating?

Tbh I don’t think the child benefit really matters. That’s what it’s for, to support people bringing up children in a (increasingly vanishing) socialist country. We’re all in it together to bring up the next generation. It’s a lovely idea. Who cares if they have 22? It’s hardly common. The finances aren’t worth worrying about imo. The real problem is their potential emotional neglect

The effects on her body must be enormous! varicose veins, slack uterus, anaemia, skeletal system must be just chalk dust. And she must be exhausted.

I agree that there is something seriously mentally wrong with this couple - TBH, I can understand people who don't have a "blood" family feeling an intense need to have a family of their own. No matter how wonderful the adoptive home, there must be a little corner of your brain that wonders what your birth family looked like and acted like - are your little idiosyncrasies genetic etc? Just the need to be part of "people like you", if you will.

But this really is beyond anything like that - it is obsessional and to the point of endangering health and even life - and not just affecting their own lives, but those of their children.

I find it heartbreaking and infuriating pretty much in equal measure.

Tobebythesea · 21/10/2019 09:52

It’s so risky. Her uterus must be paper thin. I also feel for her older children who are forced to be parents for their younger siblings as they’re too busy.

TheFairyCaravan · 21/10/2019 09:56

TRF21 Ltd is the name of their family brand. They seem to be having kids just to make money.

BeverlyGoldbergsHairAndJumpers · 21/10/2019 10:01

I think whoever is researching their finances is crossing a line. And some of the comments are spiteful, I get it people don’t like them but this is still a parenting site and they are parents.

That TRF21 bollocks is all over Fb. They are opening their own finances up to research and comment by not being truthful. People have long memories. They've admitted to claiming tax credits then when they saw other large, but smaller than their's, families getting hate for claiming them they changed their tune. Not only that Noel started sitting in judgement of such families.

We all know they are parents because they keep telling us so. They put themselves out there every few months telling us how wonderful they are because they're having yet another baby. If they don't want comment on that then they should keep quiet. But then they wouldn't get the feeebies

Why would you want so many kids anyway? It's not like ye olden days when people had shitloads of kids so they could take over the family farm or because their babies kept dying.

Basketofkittens · 21/10/2019 11:03

They claim to “only” claim £173 in child benefit. What about the cost to the NHS and eduction?

Whattodoabout · 21/10/2019 11:10

I actually naively thought she had stopped after the last one for a change, I think the youngest is almost one now and she’s usually made a pregnancy announcement by the time the youngest is six months old. Alas, I was too hopeful.

I feel sorry for the existing children. I don’t think they could afford any of this had they not sold themselves to the media. The expensive holidays, trips out, new kitchen, even their children’s clothing and things like school bags are all gifted.

I know people love to revere them because of their amazing bakery, it isn’t a multi million pound business by any stretch. They do still claim child benefit and they do use the NHS and education system a lot.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 21/10/2019 11:26

Not sure why my post was deleted. It wasn’t a personal attack. Was it the trauma part? Having a child at 14 is traumatic. The girl mightn’t realise just how traumatic though. That doesn’t mean it isn’t.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 21/10/2019 11:54

If this is true, Sue and Sophie sound so lovely.

SlothMama · 21/10/2019 11:59

This family although isn't on benefits is still a massive drain on resources, the NHS, education system etc. Why can't they just enjoy the children they have and spend time with them instead? I doubt their children get much one to one quality time with their parents.

Thesearmsofmine · 21/10/2019 12:04

This family put themselves out there to be judged. They have done countless tv shows in various countries, have social media channels and YouTube and are happy enough to take the freebies they are given.

I think they are very irresponsible, she has been warned about her health and is putting another pregnancy over her existing children.

Bluerussian · 21/10/2019 12:08

Weird. Why on earth would someone make a Youtube video about this stupid stuff? I despair of the internet, I really do.

HebeMumsnet · 21/10/2019 12:14

Afternoon, everyone. We just wanted to let you know that we've closed the other Radfords thread that was running concurrently with this one, now. It was so similar as to be indistinguishable, with lots of the same posters posting on both and the same points being made, and we were getting a lot of reports on both threads so we felt it would be better to have all the posts in one place.

We've made a few deletions on both threads so we just wanted to pop in to remind everyone that while we're happy to host the discussion and obviously people will want to discuss the story, we will have to delete any posts that break our talk guidelines, whether that's because they amount to speculation or personal attack, or just seem to be not in the spirit of the site.

Threads on this subject have often had so many deletions we've had to delete them entirely so we'd really appreciate it if we could keep this one on track. Thanks!
