I hear people referring to their babies by so many different names! What do you call your LO?

Her name

Ennjay · 08/10/2019 15:46

Haha! Fair enough!

I just use their names.

I don't get pet names/nicknames and cutesy terms of endearment so don't use them - I cringe when someone calls me "darling" or "babe".

SquintEastwood · 08/10/2019 15:48

Or do you mean during pregnancy?

I just tended to refer to it as the baby.

BanKittenHeels · 08/10/2019 15:49

I use their names mostly. Sometimes a shortened version of their name might fit into or rhyme with a song I sing to them and that will become the flavour of the month for a while but it soon passes.

HoldMyLobster · 08/10/2019 15:51

I used to refer to them en masse as The Smalls, but two of them are taller than me now.

GummyGoddess · 08/10/2019 15:52

Their names, but also cheeky horror, pickle, darling and fluffle bum as I haven't got out of the habit of talking to my cats.

FlibbertyGiblets · 08/10/2019 15:53

When each was newly here, The Baby. In fact youngest we still call The Baby. They are 16. Blush

Obvs use real names too for all the offspring.

sunshineandshowers21 · 08/10/2019 15:55

ratbag, bugsy, and cake face 😂

20viona · 08/10/2019 15:56

Real name, honey or the child 🤣

TheStakeIsNotThePower · 08/10/2019 15:57

Biggest is just Boy. Second was mouse but goes by goose these days. Smallest is Small Boy, chicken or monster munch.

They have names too.

Eldest was Beaky or Bungle or her name. She still is sometimes. Shes 17. Now DS is here i call them number 1 and number 2.

Xiaoxiong · 08/10/2019 16:33

Two DSs here. They are variously: Bean, beanie-bean/other cringe variations on beans, pookie, darling, sweetheart, honeypie, honeybun, angelcake, bubulah, sweet pea. I am practicing now for maximum embarrassment during the teen years.

ElizaPancakes · 08/10/2019 16:35

Rhyming variations of their real names mainly. Youngest gets called Noof and Nafe - he’s Nathan, but we had a friend who couldn’t pronounce his th and he called him Naphan and spelled it that way in a card. Needless to say it stuck! Grin

DontMakeMeShushYou · 08/10/2019 16:36

Poppet.

What else would you call your 15 year old son in front of his 13 year old sister and her friends? Grin Grin

My daughter’s nickname was Harimau as a baby, shortened to Hari. As a toddler she became Mr Jiggs.

My son was Singa or Ding Dong.

Daffodil2018 · 08/10/2019 16:57

Poppet, darling, little one and sweetpea. I am all about the endearments. My parents never used them and I always wished they would.

SuzieBishop · 08/10/2019 19:55

I have a 2 and a half year old DS and a 4 month old DD and I call them both baby. I can’t get out of the habit!

MeggyMeg · 08/10/2019 20:01
