I hear people referring to their babies by so many different names! What do you call your LO?

OhTheRoses · 08/10/2019 22:37

Do you mean baby? As in newly born human? My dd now 21 will always be the baby of the family. We have always called her by her name.

loriat · 08/10/2019 22:46

Grumps, as she was a very grumpy baby.

Possibly because their are so many different names? Be boring if we were all called George...

I also came on this thread to see if you were referring to a significant other or a baby.

Babyg1995 · 08/10/2019 22:52

Wee golden for my eldest we called my youngest baby until he was about 2 as that's what his big brother called him.

My DD (like Ddog) has endless nicknames. When she was tiny she was just "Bubba G" (name begins with G). As she gets older I just call her whatever comes to mind. Usually if DH and I are talking about her to each other we refer to her as The Child. She gets annoyed and we chuckle and carry on. Great parents all round really.

happycamper11 · 08/10/2019 23:04

Chicken ,sweet pea ,the youngest who is disabled and very small and cute gets " my little munchkin "

cricketmum84 · 09/10/2019 09:35

The boy has been called pips or pipsqueak since he was very small. He was always really small for his age, his nana started calling him pipsqueak and it's stuck. Even though he is now 15 and as far away from small as you could get!

DD gets called Doobs or The Doobs. She is Ruby, nicknamed ruby dooby which then just got shortened to Doobs :)

AveAtqueVale · 09/10/2019 09:37

Poppet, lovely, darling - equally to both

DS1: Noodle, monster munch

DS2: Shnookey, shnoodle, squishy. This morning when he bit me: 'you absolute little horror'.

Both of them were 'bean' before they were born.

DS: mister Christopher, monkey boy, Christopher, frog legs, chubby baby, chunky monkey (he's not quite 2 yet but was a massively fat baby thanks to his feeding habits and guzzling my breast milk)

DD: monkey girl, Charlotte, sparrow legs, (DH still trying to figure out what he'll call her as monkey girl doesn't have the same ring to it) (she's also 3 weeks old so plenty of time for nicknames)

LouiseEH · 09/10/2019 09:46

Sweetheart (both of them)

First one: Small Thing, Dribbleface Wrigglebottom (self-explanatory).

Second one: Bunny. Don't know why. Animals wasn't something that had ever seemed appropriate with Small Thing, but his brother became Bunny from very early on.

Only sweetheart remained to the walking/talking stages. Oh, and gorgeous.

HotChocolateLover · 09/10/2019 12:52

Baby Bear when he was little. Now he’s a teenager, either his name or honey.

CatCave · 09/10/2019 13:38

EssentialHummus · 09/10/2019 13:41

Squidgy. When she was teeny it was Squidgy McGorgeous. For a long time I worried that she wouldn’t answer to her actual name Grin.

Velveteenfruitbowl · 09/10/2019 13:42

Darling/my love.

InsertFunnyUsername · 09/10/2019 13:53

DD 18 mo is still "the baby" when I'm talking to my DP about her, but use her name when talking to her, calling her etc.
