What time do your 8/9 year olds go to bed?

On a school night that is. Ds is almost 9, year 4, and I'm wondering about average bedtimes.

In theory in her room for 8, lights out at 8:30 but in reality it’s usually 9, later on nights with clubs.

She’s up at 7:30 for school, but we rarely see her before 8 at the weekend. Sometimes 9.

Between 7.30 ( my preference as dh gets home then and does bed) and 8. Up around 6.30 leave home around 7.50-8.00 am.

My 9 year old goes to bed at 8.30 on a school night, 9.00 on a non-school night.

Lights out at 8 for my 9yo. I might push that back a bit soon.

I try to get my 8yo in bed for 8, but I don't stress if it's 8.30. 9ish on Fri and Sat.

Between 10 and 11, depending on when I can get him there. He has ASD and just doesn't sleep early.

BlackInk · 03/10/2019 13:16

My 2 are 7 and 10 (years 3 and 6).

During the week they usually have a bath at 7ish then teeth, pyjamas and play for a bit. They're usually in bed reading/drawing/writing at about 8, lights off at half past and usually asleep by 9 or so.

On nights where they do later activities we tend to skip the baths and minimise faffing around, so their going to sleep time is similar.

They wake up naturally at about 6:30 or 7am every day.

9:15-30 here. He’s always been a night owl - his lark of an older brother is in bed and asleep a good half hour earlier! But ds8 doesn’t usually get up till after 7 whereas ds12 is up at 6:30.

QwertySmalls · 03/10/2019 13:44

9 o'clock and up by 7 AM.

BikeRunSki · 03/10/2019 13:45

It was 7.30-7.45 for lights out about 30 mins later, but all her activities are getting later as she’s gone up an age group, so realistically now nearer 8.30-8.45 when she has Cubs or Football. DD, Y3, 8 in a few days.

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/10/2019 13:47

He wakes up at 5 (ADHD) so goes to bed at 7.

purpleolive · 03/10/2019 13:50

8 on a school night, 9 weekends, holidays and for bake off 😁 he still wakes at 6 no matter what!

PoppyFleur · 03/10/2019 13:58

weekdays 8pm lights off, except for one night when it's 8.30pm due to sports activity.
