We're trying to think of something we can all watch at Halloween but don't want the young teens to be too terrified. Ideally the same sort of scare level as Jaws but scarier than Goosebumps.

We watched scream around that age. Would that work?

EskewedBeef · 01/10/2019 18:53

The Woman in Black has some good scares in it.

gracepoolesrum · 01/10/2019 19:02

Final Destination, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd? Got to be honest though, by their age I was watching Psycho, Candyman, The Shining... are you sure you don't want something scarier?!

DD watched women in black in her year 9 english class. She hated it

MehWithASideOfToast · 01/10/2019 19:04

The Others

JeffreyJefferson · 01/10/2019 19:04

She likes Bird Box on netflix though

MehWithASideOfToast · 01/10/2019 19:04

The one with Bruce Willis?

Soola · 01/10/2019 19:06

The Burbs?

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 01/10/2019 19:08

It, either version. Child's play isn't too scary. Thirteen ghosts. Lake Placid.

Leflic · 01/10/2019 19:09

Mine liked The Others, Poltergeist and Alien

The Woman is Black is really scary ( and sad)

NerrSnerr · 01/10/2019 19:09

When I was a teenager The Craft was the go to horror film. The Faculty was also good. I enjoyed Misery as a teen too. (I am 20 years out of date but they may have aged well).

Baguetteaboutit · 01/10/2019 19:10

Lost boys? That's more comedy scary than scary scary?

Crystal87 · 01/10/2019 19:10

It's not scary, but what about Ghost? Also the Woman in Black is creepy but not too scary for a teen.
I think it depends on personality, some kids this age will be more scared than others.

Baguetteaboutit · 01/10/2019 19:11

Oooh, the Faculty. Ignore me, go with that.

BethanyGilbert · 01/10/2019 19:14

Scream? It’s good fun but maybe you need to have seen a few slashers to enjoy it

Zaphodsotherhead · 01/10/2019 19:14

Sleepy Hollow. Watched it after a 'ghost walk' with DD3 and her friends around that age. They were pleasantly scared.

econowifey · 01/10/2019 20:50

Child's Play isn't too scary??? Confused I was terrified as a young teen lol. Had to go to work with my parents as I wouldn't stay in the house, checked wardrobes before bed, couldn't shut my eyes to go to sleep.
It was an extreme reaction thinking back BlushGrin

sunglasses123 · 01/10/2019 20:53

Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis or The Village. Same director

Baguetteaboutit · 01/10/2019 20:54

The Crow.

It for for 13 year olds! Do you think film certificates exist just for the lolz?

Unshriven · 01/10/2019 20:58

The Omen, or Poltergeist (the originals, not the remakes.

Or The Birds, or The Fog (again, the originals).

Classics.

Dramaofallama · 01/10/2019 20:59

The others, sixth sense, jeepers creepers, sleepy hollow.

Spied · 01/10/2019 21:00

I'd vote The Others
