It's driving me crackers. Please can we stop ending posts with love hearts and kisses.

You aren't texting your Mum and frankly it's irrelevant and distracting!

It'll be sparkly banners and glittery white next.

I loath all the ‘bubs’ ‘Gawjus’ and ‘hubs’ stuff. My 6 year old can spell better than that! I left NM after a swearing incident.
I like the brutal honesty here - one of my first posts was in AIBU and it was pointed out to me in no uncertain terms that I was being very U.

But on a side note, how to I get the gin and cake icons? I’ve tried before and it never works!!

MustardJumpers · 01/10/2019 08:55

I don't like all the tickers and shiny banners on nm.
But hubs is no different from dh used here. Both a cringey short version.

Wombleish · 01/10/2019 09:45

Why do people think 'DH', 'DD', 'OH', 'MIL', etc are just a MN thing? They're a common forum shorthand. I saw (and used) them long before I joined MN.

JustOneLastThing · 01/10/2019 09:58

Here's the list of MN acronyms:

No 'hubs' or 'bubs' to be seen, thankfully.

@FrenchFancie

The Cake icon is obtained by putting the word "cake" within these brackets [ ]

Same for Gin and Bike

Are you using the right brackets?
