What's happening in your house today?

I'm having a cuppa before anyone wakes up. We're going to see Downton. We always pick the earliest show become it's mostly empty.

We're moving house on Tuesday so I need to get out of the chaos for a while! We'll come home and pack some more then go for a walk before dinner.

We're having ribeye steaks with home made bearnaise sauce for dinner.

Hopefully it will be relaxing, last week was mental with 4 late nights working.

Coffee in bed while DP sits downstairs on PlayStation Hmm

Put shelves up in the nursery, out plants and decor on said shelves.

Go and buy a rug, lampshade and curtains for the nursery.

Out said items in nursery.

Have DP’s dad up for a cuppa in late afternoon.

Cook dinner

Have a nice lavender bath.

Go to bed.

Up with kids at 7.30, came down to find DP on the sofa fully dressed with shoes on after coming home from a party. Kids are running around playing dinosaurs and he still hasn't woken up. They're actually using him as a ledge at the moment.
I have been enjoying the peace of the kitchen and some polish bread with jam. I made two slices and then tried to practice some restraint by putting it away. Was secretly delighted when dd changed her mind and wanted cereal instead so I got to eat hers as well.
Going swimming in a minute with everyone else in the whole city. Then picking up some second hand clothes from someone's house, then maybe park when the rain stops. DP better have made tea. Hopefully the acid has worn off by then.

dementedma · 29/09/2019 09:28

Coffee in bed watching rugby. Then going for a swim. Then helping mum with some paperwork and delivering some soup for her lunch. After dinner tonight have to empty the kitchen for new flooring arriving tomorrow afternoon. Deep joy

minesagin37 · 29/09/2019 09:32

Got up at 8 and did week 3 of couch to 5 K. DH got up and we are having a cuppa. Will collect older dd ( at uni in same city) at 11.30 to bring her home for lunch. Younger dd will join us when she surfaces! Will take older dd home this afternoon then veg and make sure dd has uniform etc etc.

DamsonOnThisDress · 29/09/2019 09:37

Many coffees.

Finishing touches to new bathroom - siliconing, caulking, etc.

Annoy DH by asking him to "show us your caulk" too many times.

Congratulate self on my good humour and wit.

Walk dog.

Finish audiobook.

Get DS11 started on one of his homeworks.

And if we haven't come to blows and stomped off to do our own things by this evening we'll all watch a film together and eat too much.

Decluttering
Again .........

It’s hard to believe that in the last month this is what has left our house
-6 bin bags full of clothes to charity shop
-7 bin bags of toys to charity shop
-15 bin bags of rubbish
-1 load of big stuff (car full) to the tip
-1 load of stuff (half a car full) to storage

And yet still, it feels like everywhere is cluttered and ‘full’ so today I’m back to it. Hopefully at some point it will start to make a difference. Cup of tea and bin bags ready 😔 I really just want to sit down 🤣

Soontobe60 · 29/09/2019 09:37

Woken up at 6 by the rain and the cats! We're just having breakfast then I'm making some brownies for tea. After that I'm off into Manchester to join the anti Tory march!
If I see BJ I will most likely just glare at him even though I want to slap his face!
DH will be glued to the Grand Prix.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 29/09/2019 09:52

DH has brought the children to a harvest festival. I’ve just finished my pastries and coffee and now I’m going to tidy up.

When I’ve put all the clean clothes away I’m going to watch the latest episode of Bake Off. I’m giving my dad a lift to the airport after lunch and on the way home I’ll probably pick up something for dinner and try to get it made before DH gets back.

Em012 · 29/09/2019 10:01

Just woken upShock tho I didnt fall asleep until 5am so crap nights sleep. Currently waiting on my coffee machine will be followed by a day of cleaning and decluttering .. steak mushroom and hm chips for dinner I think.

VictoriaBun · 29/09/2019 10:09

Raining, raining , raining here . Made a massive bulb order a few weeks ago which arrived yesterday , so they need to go in asap, at least 700+ eek ! Will not be putting them in today.
Listening to my dh having a big moan after watching The Andrew Marr Show. He watches it most Sundays and then spends the next few hours moaning , pontificating and passing on his great knowledge to me Hmm
Perhaps bulb planting in heavy rain is a good idea after all Wink

lucysmam · 29/09/2019 10:12

I'm enjoying a quiet cup of tea, listening to the rain. Both girls still sleeping so far.

The washer's washing uniforms -I managed to do everything but bloody uniform yesterday before I ran out of steam, and I suspect there is only one of dd2's cardigans in there .

I might clean out the fridge and decant the chest freezer into the fridge-freezer so it can defrost overnight. Both are rather empty as I've been using up so now is probably a good time to do it before they fill up again!

I doubt we'll go further than OneStop for milk and spuds.

Chops and mash with gravy for tea, followed by giant cookie and ice cream or cream for dessert :)

SuperPixie247 · 29/09/2019 10:16

You were all up so early and so productive! Shock

I'm currently laid out on the sofa MNetting whilst DP watches last nights MOTD. We will collect DS from his dads at 11. We were all going to go to Newby Hall for the last day but the weather is such a washout, we are going to have an indoor picnic with the food that we bought to take Grin

DP will do a roast chicken later and we will laze around, maybe put a movie on for DS and have a play or something.

Need to get up and unload the washing machine now...

FaerieKiss · 29/09/2019 10:19

Had a lie in, so just got up and enjoying my first coffee of the morning.

DD just left for her shift at local cafe. Other DD still in bed but has promised to tidy her epically untidy room today before she heads off to do her maths mentoring.

DH on his laptop working, whilst one eye on the rugby.

Will pop out for a pub lunch later, then I'm going to swap my wardrobes over so all my winter clothes are in our bedroom.

Then it will be a lazy evening of doing laundry interspersed with reading my new book.

Dauphinois · 29/09/2019 10:21

Kids had a sleepover here last night so I need to clear the living room of the remnants of a 6 kid party Confused.

Dh has taken ds1 to footie and they'll come back freezing and drenched.

Helping out with a PTA event this afternoon, hope the rain holds off! Then DH will do a roast tonight. Will hassle kids to do homework at some point .

Happy daysSmile

Pipandmum · 29/09/2019 10:26

I’m laying in bed waiting for 11 so I can have breakfast (16/8). I have been down to feed the rabbits and let dogs out and tidy the kitchen a bit. My daughter is still asleep. My son is at his girlfriends and I may see him later if he goes to rugby but as it’s pouring out probably not!
Later I’ll steel myself for a swim as I didn’t go yesterday and of course dog walk. Tesco delivery. That’s about as exciting as it gets on a weekend - we are up in London next weekend so don’t mind having a chill out now.

trilbydoll · 29/09/2019 10:28

Kids are watching last night's Strictly. I'm contemplating putting away the mountain of clean washing.

I'd like to go into town and get the necessary ingredients for a roast dinner but I need to summon up the energy!

Tylee · 29/09/2019 10:55

We've got DC (4 and 1), DC1 is fairly knackered from starting school, DC2 just wants to play with whatever DC1 is playing with, so my morning so far has been mostly a chorus of
"Put your trousers on!"
"He's touching my train!"
"Don't push your brother!"
"Waaaa!"
"Waaaa!"
"TROUSERS!"
Anyway. Have now escaped to church (yay!) DH is working this afternoon (panic!) and it's raining so the park, river etc are out, and there's no fucking way I'm spending the afternoon with them both in my house on my own. Have done a frantic Google and we're going to a child-friendly concert. God knows what it will be line, but at least they'll be out and entertained and they won't be grabbing each other's stuff.

Lolimax · 29/09/2019 11:02

Well today was planned...me getting up early to do my uni assignment then out for a pub Sunday dinner. Except I got up, saw the rugby and Wales winning so woke DH with a cuppa. Lying in bed drinking tea and watching the match then a delivery dinner instead.

AppropriateAdult · 29/09/2019 11:03

Pottering around trying to tidy up before DPs come for lunch (DH is cooking). Kids are playing very nicely together for once so long may that last! Will probably take it easy this afternoon - am early-days pregnant so fairly wiped out by tea-time at the moment.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 29/09/2019 11:05

I’m sat on the sofa half watching Columbo half reading mumsnet while DH is prepping a huge roast dinner for just the two of us. We will probably open a bottle of red later

CakeNinja · 29/09/2019 11:25

Taking ds to the cinema to watch angry birds Sad I hate the cinema and films in general! At least there will be sweets and popcorn.
Dds are both home from sleepovers and will shower and do homework etc.
Dp is plastering the spare bedroom and will make dinner later.
Washing/changing beds and the usual excitement will continue when I’m home from the cinema.
A fairly standard Sunday!!

cheesenpickle · 29/09/2019 12:01

I'm sat in a cafe as have 2 hours to kill, Ds is at rehearsals for a show and not worth going home really. DH is off on a cycling trip , trouro to London-3 days of cycling in rain, 11 hours a day- his idea of fun! Homework and ironing this afternoon then tea at Sil so no cooking for me which is always a bonus!

narcissistseverywhere · 29/09/2019 12:25

Been up most of the night with dog who has a tummy bug
Teens are upstairs on tech
Husband out doing martial arts
Usually leave Mumsnetting until the evening, but I'm bored - should be doing housework

Deathraystare · 29/09/2019 14:04

Nothing I hope cos I am at work!!!!!

smileylottie87 · 29/09/2019 16:31

I'm on the sofa as I have been for a few days with my back in spasm, which is shit. Although I'm on enough painkillers to be away with the faries! OH went to a nice lunch with his family which I was gutted to miss out on. He is now working in his office and I'm hoping he will come up with something nice for my dinner ☺
