I had a proper lie in so am just drinking my first cuppa now Brew. Dd2 seems to have been up ages which is unusual for her on a weekend. Dd1 is still sleeping.

I think we're going to have a lazy day. The weather's looking a bit crap and I'm too skint to take them out anywhere.

Dd2 has homework, if we can find the sheets it's on, so we'll do some of that. And I'll wash uniform ready for next week.

Tea is lasagne and salad, followed by ice cream I think.

What about you lot? :)

Currently lying on the sofa in my PJs with the dog on my knee watching friends/reading a book/browsing mumsnet.

Later I'll get a shower and get my glad rags on to meet up with my friends for cocktails and dancing Grin

curly100 · 28/09/2019 10:18

Today is already not going to plan here. Kitchen scales weren't working so popped to the shop to get a battery, scales still not working, went back to shop and bought new scales so can now bake the cake I need to make for church tomorrow.

Had hoped to get caught up on some work this morning but am still feeling floored by a cold/sore throat so we'll see.

Need to tidy the kitchen and clean the downstairs loo.

DD will get dropped off from her Dad's after lunch and I need to take her into town for some school stationery supplies and to spend some book tokens. We're to have tea at DP's Mums but then back here to curl up on the sofa in front of Strictly.

delilabell · 28/09/2019 10:21

Weve got a lovely day planned. My brother is up so hes going to come round to see us this morning then a bit of shopping and then off to collect our new cat!!
Home with her and then m dh and 2dcs having a snuggly night watching strictly.
First time in ages I've felt excited about a day all together

FiveGoMadInDorset · 28/09/2019 10:29

I woke up at 8 which is unheard of!

All had breakfast and then driving to nearest town to get coats for DC’s and sort out DD’s phone, and then not a lot else planned. Maybe watch a film this evening.

MrsPear · 28/09/2019 10:36

Sitting here with a cold. H has taken the boys football whilst I feel crap. I’ve managed to put the first uniform wash. I’m contemplating tidying then a hot steamy shower. We are visiting h’s family this afternoon so at least I won’t be cooking today. I want my bed ...

YorkshireIndie · 28/09/2019 10:56

My parents are away so I am spending the day with my grandmother. Just spent £100 🤦🏻‍♀️ at John Lewis but it is stuff for the baby and my hospital bag.

Think we are going to have half a jacket potato and quiche for lunch and then salmon fishcakes for dinner. It is only 11am and it already feels like a long day

catenthusiast · 28/09/2019 10:59

It was my birthday yesterday so we were out and about all day and went out for dinner (which was lovely!). In need of a bit of decompression time today - so we've got an excellent day of relaxing, doing a tiny bit of shopping and housework and then watching films later Smile

Rainyrain · 28/09/2019 11:00

I’ve been at work since 5am 😢 I’m finishing soon though.
I’m going to the local market town to meet a friend for lunch and to buy some of those tiny pumpkins for a little ‘season bowl’ we have at home.
Will be walking the dog at some point too.
Not sure what’s for dinner, DH is out tonight so I’m having a movie night when the children are in bed.

wendz86 · 28/09/2019 11:01

Taken dd2 to ballet . Now quick break before taking DD1 to her dance classes. After lunch they are getting picked up to go to their dads. I have gin and strictly to look forward to later.

Titsywoo · 28/09/2019 11:03

I'm just off to my allotment. Woke up a while ago as the workmen arrived early to finish our new drive. I'm feeling a bit under the weather so hoping some fresh air will help. Organising some cupboards with dh this afternoon then hopefully doing something nice for dinner. Need an early night as we have to pick dd up early from the airport. She's been on a French exchange all week.

Bluewavescrashing · 28/09/2019 11:03

This morning, taking kids to sports clubs. Then lunch at home. DH is going to football this afternoon so I'm taking the DCs to Smyths to spend their pocket money and then we'll watch lego movie 2 at home. Tomorrow we're going swimming all together and out for lunch somewhere.

LeonoraFlorence · 28/09/2019 11:04

We are in Edinburgh for the weekend. Visiting one of the girls favourite places here, dynamic earth then will get some lunch before going to the castle then the shops. Eldest DD is learning about Scottish castles at school so she’s desperate to visit the castle.

Shosha1 · 28/09/2019 11:21

Up at 5 which is normal for me. Wrote for 3 hours. DH went to work at 6.30. Had breakfast then wrote till 10.00. Stopped and made the beds put a wash on, and hovered the the sitting room. Now sat with a cup of tea while I wait to swap wash into dryer. Then into hot tub for an hour. DH put slow cooker on with green chicken stew in it as friends will be here for supper

BoogleMcGroogle · 28/09/2019 11:28

I am writing up my doctoral thesis. It's what il do every Saturday until it's finally done. It's like being in the mafia- I wish I could quit ( and have a normal Saturday) but I'm in too deep.

Stationeryqueen · 28/09/2019 11:34

DP was away last night, so leisurely get up, bacon sandwich, then cooked a bolognese for tea.

We are planning to go to a circuit to watch motorbikes this afternoon, but the weather is awful. DN is coming for his tea & a sleep over tonight, I need to make his little bed up at some point.

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 28/09/2019 11:38

just back from a 21 mile run. I’m broken but buzzing! Ready for a hot bath then heading for a football match.

SeaViewBliss · 28/09/2019 11:39

DD is here for a few days having only gone back to Uni a week ago. She’s struggling with her mental health so lots of TLC. Luckily Uni is commutable so she will still go for lectures etc.

DS wants a lift to the skatepark at some point. DH has to go to work for a few hours in a while. We’ve just changed the bed and had a clean/declutter.

The rest of the day will mostly be reading, binge watching and general relaxation/laziness!

imnotinthemood · 28/09/2019 11:46

Today is the sort of day to stay home as weather is horrible here .
Unfortunately I need to drop ds at his club do food shop etc . Tonight I'm off out for the first time in ages should be good but I admit think I'd prefer to be home in my pjs watching strictly Grin.

WhenPushComesToShove · 28/09/2019 12:07

Lying on the bed with my little dog beside me in the sunshine reading Mumsnet of course and contemplating making some pickle later from all the apples in the garden

TateWorm · 28/09/2019 12:14

DH has been signed off work through stress so he's been doing all the housework to keep himself busy so DD and I are heading off to the football this afternoon. Other DD is in cadets and they're away at a shooting range today.

midsomermurderess · 28/09/2019 12:17

It's a perfect autumn day here, slight nip in the air, golden light. Just back from pottering on my bike, doing a few messages. Then birthday lunch being cooked for me. Lovely.

SunshineAngel · 28/09/2019 12:28

I did have a busy weekend planned, but my partner and I both started with colds last night (caught from DSS, the wondrous freshers' flu) and we both feel absolutely crap (he seems worse than me) so I think we will just have a chill day, with lots of tea, TV, and book reading. Sometimes it just has to be done, and I NEED us both to be better for Monday for work!

JMAngel1 · 28/09/2019 13:05

I got up before DDs to dye my roots - glam!, then took them to netball and drama then went to support a Macmillan Cake Sale in a local pub. Now got to take DD to a party miles away but while she's there, I'm nipping to a friend's for a quick coffee and catch up. Then back home and homework, dinner and showers as we're out all day tomorrow at Alton Towers. Another friend said she might pop in for a coffee/wine this evening otherwise it will be Strictly and early bed for everyone as we have to leave early in the morning. I'll do my weekly facial and fake tan before bed so it's all done for the week ahead.

lucysmam · 28/09/2019 13:35

I haven't actually managed being lazy so far Confused

The good news is that there will be literally nothing to do tomorrow though!

With ds at Coventry university open day. So far unimpressed with the uni but the cathedral is breathtakingly beautiful so feel like it was worth the 6 am start. & I love spending time w ds he is great company.

Dh is taking dd1 out for lunch and from texts sounds like they are enjoying their time together. Dd3 is home alone her idea of heaven and dd2 is off at uni living uni life..

A good day in the enko household
