I had a proper lie in so am just drinking my first cuppa now Brew. Dd2 seems to have been up ages which is unusual for her on a weekend. Dd1 is still sleeping.

I think we're going to have a lazy day. The weather's looking a bit crap and I'm too skint to take them out anywhere.

Dd2 has homework, if we can find the sheets it's on, so we'll do some of that. And I'll wash uniform ready for next week.

Tea is lasagne and salad, followed by ice cream I think.

What about you lot? :)

I let my DCs spend their pocket money at Smyths today. They chose a lego set each and have been building peacefully for an hour now. Bloody brilliant.

@midsomermurderess Happy Birthday! Also, messages, you have got to be Irish?

dementedma · 28/09/2019 16:29

Really busy day getting tons of chores done. Mum recovering from a fall and DH on crutches so took them both out for coffee as they have cabin fever. Made soup in the slowcooker and ordered little glass bottles to decant my home made fruit gins in for Christmas presents. Contemplating frittata for dinner but DS wont eat it. He can sort himself out.

Work on and off here today combined with watching the UCI.

LoonyLunaLoo · 28/09/2019 17:13

We were up early as DS wanted pancakes for breakfast before he went to do his 11+ exams. Me and DH went for breakfast but I was too nervous to eat anything! He feels it went well though and came out smiling so it’s all good. Then we went to Kaspa’s for ice cream, which seems to be where every single child who took the 11+ wanted to go! We bought FIFA 20 for him while he was in the tests so he’s been playing that with DH this afternoon and I’ve been chilling and feeling relieved that it’s all over!

Messages, I would have said Scottish Smile

SunnivaGunne · 28/09/2019 18:06

Yes JM, I am Irish and flummoxed some English colleagues with "messages" once to be backed up by a scottish colleague who understood me! Funny how expressions travel (or don't). My favourite reaction was to "yer man" (what do you mean My man??? Hes not MY man!!!!).

Back to the thread: cleaning all day (work for me as changeover in holiday let but also catching up on the bottomless pit that is the laundry basket) tomorrow will be an exciting day.....ironing and cooking.

Adversecamber22 · 28/09/2019 18:28

Had a lie in while DH and DS did park run. Went out to lunch with DH Few chores. DH has just gone out to do some food shopping and I’m gaming and mnetting. Watching Strictly later.

Mini-lie in until 7 (usually up at 6), then synagogue. There are lots of festivals coming up so there was a great atmosphere today.

Then came home and read/napped with cat.

About to talk on the phone with long-distance DP, followed by a film and then bed.
