Or dinner, if you're that way inclined Grin
Shamelessly looking for ideas - we normally have some form of spaghetti bolognese on a Sunday evening but just not feeling it today!
Whats everyone having?

We had pimped up instant noodles. One of my easy favourites.

Cook instant noodles according to packet instructions (Make sure you add the flavour sachet for any The Castle fans). Then add chilli, prawns. sweet corn, tenderstem broccoli, opak choi and beaten egg.

Yum. Fancy, easy asian noodles. Who knows it comes out of a packet!

Oh yes and to the people who asked. DH survived the 9 day chinese- mainly because he has not eaten it yet.... it's still in the fridge and it has a film on it.

He is almost ready to concede defeat on it. (Experience shows I have to let him think he has come to his own conclusions)

mackerel with Harissa plus a beetroot, orange salsa served with cous cous with chickpeas and radish...

Have also bought king prawns to make tom yum soup tomorrow night as I have a cold and am trying to blast it away with spice and heat....

Adversecamber22 · 24/09/2019 19:59

I made a meat loaf with pork mince, stuffing mix, grated apples, apple purée, tomatoes and spices. Had with mash, carrots, peas, green beans and gravy.

Bluewavescrashing · 24/09/2019 20:03

Oh yes. I struggle with this, to be honest. I am always thankful that the DCs are too fussy and too young to go and choose anything out of the firdge by accident.

JapaneseBirdPainting · 24/09/2019 20:07

He is vegetarian and his theory is that vegetables don't go 'off'.

(He has been educated to postgrad level, by the way..... Hmm )

Atalune · 24/09/2019 20:10

@YahBasic Too late for tonight but after years of trying and failing at Toad in the Hole I now use this recipe and it's perfect every time www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1572643/sams-toad-in-the-hole

whitebowls · 25/09/2019 14:54

Tonight is creamy chorizo spaghetti, garlic bread and a green salad.
I cook about three times a week for my lovely neighbours and take their dinner round and this is their favourite meal.
It's also the simplest thing I cook!!

itbemay1 · 25/09/2019 14:58

A gousto box delight. We've been having these for about 3 weeks and they're brilliant! Really transformed our usual dinners. 60% off 1st box and 30% off rest of boxes for the month. Good ingredients and great value. Tonight is smoked fish with creamed leeks and potatoes. I have got a code if anyone wants to try

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 25/09/2019 15:02

Dinner will be Home made pizza with red onion, chilli and mushroom for me and dh (the dc will have cheese pizza)

Dessert home made clotted cream ice cream

Fancy a glass of white wine tonight too

mbosnz · 25/09/2019 15:22

It should be devilled sausages with kumara and potato mash and multitudinous veges.

It is highly likely to be deliveroo, as DH still away, and I've been crook in bed with a virus all day.

chesterdraws1 · 25/09/2019 15:42

Omelettes, oven chips and salad. Need to go food shopping tomorrow (payday) Grin

Bloodycats · 25/09/2019 15:48

Garlicky lamb loin chops and green veg, which I will probably drizzle garlic and lemon over too. Very garlicky!
The local butchers do these cubes of dauphinois potatoes, they are 🤤🤤🤤 so I might just throw one in for dh.

SwizzelStick · 25/09/2019 15:52

Whitebowls How do you make your creamy chorizo spaghetti please?

Aragog · 25/09/2019 15:54

Going to persuade dh to get a take away treat I hope, on way home from hospital.
Been in for a heart procedure today and hope to be able to lease later this evening. It been able to have food so far today and only just allowed some water now I'm back in ward, so need something to binge on!

BearSoFair · 25/09/2019 15:56

SwizzelStick · 25/09/2019 16:00

I hope that you have a smooth and swift recovery, Aragog.

Eminybob · 25/09/2019 16:03

Tonight we are having vegan burritos. We aren’t vegan but go meat free on a Wednesday. It’s fun to try out different recipes, we’ve had these before and they are delicious.

MrsA2015 · 25/09/2019 16:16

Shepherds pie

Kalim8 · 25/09/2019 17:02

Slow cooker stew medley (leek, sweet potato, potato, parsnip, carrot, pork loin, pork sausages, tin of mixed beans, stock cube), need to add some dumplings now & follow the recipe so they don't turn out dry!

whitebowls · 25/09/2019 17:29

@SwizzelStick
Easiest recipe ever.
Cook some spaghetti to al dente. Whilst it's cooking do the following. Chop some spicy chorizo into small pieces and dry fry. The oil will come out of the chorizo. Add cherry tomatoes cut in half if you want, and also some chopped courgettes....but not necessary. Take off heat when ready.
When spaghetti is cooked, drain add butter or garlic butter, cream, black pepper and grated Parmesan till luscious.
Serve in bowls and top with chorizo (or chorizo with tomatoes etc). Don't mix in the chorizo before serving as it goes soggy.
Grate Parmesan on top if you want.
It's ready!
10 minutes ish cook time only.

SwizzelStick · 25/09/2019 17:32

Thank you Whitebowls. I'll definitely be making that. It sounds so good.
