Been feeling under the weather all week. Scratchy throat, achy, that feeling like a colds brewing but nothing actually materialising. Now sweats and diarrhoea. I feel dreadful. How long does it last?!

I've got it too but thankfully no diahorrea yet! It's The Cold That Never Gets Started... It's driving me mad.

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 22/09/2019 07:35

DS2 and I are just getting over this. Hope you feel better soon @Duckegg271

3teens2cats · 22/09/2019 07:45

I too have 'the cold which won't get on with it'. Sore throat and headache which comes and goes but never develops. It's so annoying! No tummy problems though other than feeling bloated because all I want to eat is crap due to feeling tired and annoyed with 'the cold that won't get on with it'. Had it on and off for a few weeks.

I’ve got this. Headache, hoarse, sore throat. Cough is really kicking in today. Running to the loo yesterday evening for about 4 hours which settled down quickly.
Sad

incywincydoggy · 22/09/2019 07:49

Yep I had this cold thing.
Had post nasal drip every night for about a week and a sore throat.

weaselwords · 22/09/2019 07:56

Ah, I’ve got this too. Started Monday and felt pants, but no cold symptoms. Same Tuesday then Wednesday I felt better in myself but had scratchy throat and sniffles. Continued until yesterday when I feel dreadful. Sneezing coughing and grumbling stomach and no energy at all. Yuk.

Vintagegoth · 22/09/2019 08:08

raises hand
Yep, started as a cold, then sore throat, then sinus pain, headache, ear pain, then a bout of diarrhoea, then sore throat and cold again.
Now I have something going wrong with my eye. Sore and swollen.
I am starting to wonder if working in a school is a good idea.

youarenotkiddingme · 22/09/2019 08:22

Yes it seems to be. We've had 8 children out of 20 with it so far this term!

Slappadabass · 22/09/2019 08:25

Me and my eldest have this too, I just feel crappy and on the verge of coming down with something but nothing comes of it. Woke up today feeling all achey.
I thought I was just feeling run down until DD started with it.

Dollymixture22 · 22/09/2019 08:35

I have this. Feeling like I have a hangover for a few days despite no drinking. Really tired, bit of diarrhoea.

Don’t feel properly ill, just a bit rotten.

Hope it lifts soon!!

Ratbagcatbag · 22/09/2019 08:38

Started with a cold on Monday. Developed to full blown headcold on Tuesday. Seemed to be over the worst by Thursday but a full persistent headache. Been off work four days. Finally ready to go back to work tomorrow and my daughter who's 6 started with upset stomach, fever and headache last night.
Now had to ask for a days holiday tomorrow as she's no way going back to school yet. Nightmare.

Duckegg271 · 22/09/2019 08:50

You all have my sympathy! Last night was dreadful, rumbling guts all night. Think I’ve had about 4 hours of broken sleep. Drilling nose, sweaty and achy. Thank god it’s Sunday!

GalactiCat · 22/09/2019 08:54

Yes. Me too for last two weeks doing 12 hour work shifts 😢

MrsMozartMkII · 22/09/2019 09:01

Think mine lasted 3 weeks in total, with the sort of quest and identifiable bit being just over a week.

Well, I say 3 weeks but it's still sort of hanging around in the right hand side of my head and it must be week 5 by now.

CallmeAngelina · 22/09/2019 09:15

Yep. Me too.

EarringsandLipstick · 22/09/2019 09:27

Yes! In Ireland and have this. Flu-like but not as bad & no appetite, tummy cramps etc. Really exhausted too.

hardrainsgonnafall · 22/09/2019 09:38

Me too

Diarrhoea only lasted a night but still coughing too much to do anything much. Wish it would just go away. Been over a week now

hardrainsgonnafall · 22/09/2019 09:40

I thought the tummy problem was too much lemsip and the like, it doesn’t really agree with me, but obviously not if some of you have that as well

ChickenyChick · 22/09/2019 09:47

Yes lemsip has lots of artificial sweetener (aspartame?) which can cause runny tums

WeaselsRising · 22/09/2019 10:28

Had that a couple of weeks ago. Lasted about 3 weeks altogether. Felt awful but not actually ill enough to be off work.

MrsMozartMkII · 22/09/2019 10:46

WeaselsRising did you feel like at least half your head was filled with wet cottonwool? Getting a bit bored of it now.

JaneJeffer · 22/09/2019 10:48

I have it as well. Also in Ireland. No stomach bug but horrible post nasal drip making me feel nauseous. Tired and sweaty too. It's horrible.

namechangedagain11 · 22/09/2019 11:47

Me too. Swollen glands, sore throat and headache. No diarrhoea thank goodness!

MrsMozartMkII · 22/09/2019 18:40

It's blinking well back!

Had a (very) lazy day due to eating-the-wrong-for-me stuff yesterday, but as that's faded off the cold thing (hot head and achey) has come back. Argh! It just needs to do one.

elephantoverthehill · 22/09/2019 18:45

I hear you. I've got it too. All symptoms as described as well as crusty eyes in the morning.
