Here's a little reminder to get ya through the day!
Please remember to take your meds today!
And remember to drink water!
And, if you can, try to eat something!
Your health is very important, and you have to take care of yourself.
And also, please remember to find some balance today.
If you're doing too much, rest. Advocate for yourself. Get the rest you deserve.
If you HAVE to do stuff, at least make sure you're listening to your own limits.
Your limitations are not the same as the person next to you.
You have to listen to yourself
And take care of yourself.
For yourself.
And for me.
I'm so proud of you for getting this far.

Happy Friday everybody!

Grin ok you’re right. You being annoyed is much more important than supporting a person who struggles to keep on going, day in and day out.
Just incase it’s not clear, I am being sarcastic again.

NoSauce · 21/09/2019 12:43

Too true WhyBirdStop. I can’t imagine in the depths of a MH crisis being helped by these types of quotes.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 21/09/2019 12:45

The more stuff like this is posted the less impact it will. It’s just FB memes. Nobody really gets inspiration from them.

But that's why it's harmful. People post and read this nonsense and think that this what a discussion about mental health is, and that they've done their bit for it and don't engage further.

It trivialises it and then adds the cute kittens to it.

MiniMum97 · 21/09/2019 12:46

Thank you OP I think that's a lovely post. Really resonates with me as I am trying to take better care of myself, drink water, remember my meds and supplements, and get to bed on time!

I am terrible at getting distracted and forgetting one or all of these things. Thanks for the timely reminder, I'll just go and get a glass of water 😊. ....

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 21/09/2019 12:48

Daphne, I honestly don't care whether you're being sarcastic or not.

If you have a valid argument, you can try and present it. Or you can try and be sarcastic.

NoSauce · 21/09/2019 12:49

ChardonnaysDistantCousin I agree totally with you. It doesn’t help anyone, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s just words for likes.

It’s a nice post op, ignore the snotty posters.
Sometimes life is so lonely and empty for so many people even a random stranger on the internet reminding you to take meds and have a nice day perks your otherwise dismal morning up. The people knocking this are lucky enough to not understand the meaning of what you posted. Lucky them.
I’m not one for memes, I’m not on FB or Instagram. I don’t feel the need to be snarky though. Hope you have a fab Saturday op Cake

S0CKS · 21/09/2019 13:15

Where did I ever make out this was a whole conversation about mental health? Or even that I considered this sort of thing to be? Obviously its not, don't be absolutely rediculous.
Considering I've actually had people message me to thank me for my post ill happily ignore the people who are clearly the type to be offended for the sake of being offended.

Daphne I'm sorry, my mistakeThanks

DaphneFanshaw · 21/09/2019 13:41

No worries Bunker and thank you. it is really easy to miss read the tone of a post. Especially on a thread like this. Flowers

sockittome123 · 21/09/2019 14:04

It’s just words for likes.

Sorry to break it to you, but MN doesn't have a liking feature... Hmm

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/09/2019 14:08

If you don't want to read things that annoy you, you would have to stay off the internet altogether!

NoSauce · 21/09/2019 14:09

Sorry to break it to you, but MN doesn't have a liking feature

OF course it does.

FaFoutis · 21/09/2019 14:14

I quite like this. Nobody says anything nice to me so I'm desperate.
Thanks S0CKS. You too.

sockittome123 · 21/09/2019 14:17

OF course it does

Can I dislike all the negative posters then? Grin

I honestly can't believe that some people are still working themselves into a lather about something that was clearly intended to make someone happy. If we all went around shooting down everything vaguely positive about the world, we probably wouldn't even be here because we'd have all committed suicide by now. Because that's how bad it can get, and honestly if some people think it's better that way rather than them seeing something that made their eyes roll, MN has indeed gone to the dogs.

gavisconismyfriend · 21/09/2019 14:29

Good reminders - thank you OP!

Sockbabies · 21/09/2019 15:04

Agreed @sockittome123.

Ooh. Where is it? Can I get it on the app? Hmm

NoSauce · 21/09/2019 16:27

People post memes like this for likes or in the case of MN, replies saying how great it is. Just like FB.

DirtyWindow · 21/09/2019 16:30

Thanks op. Today I have been trying to rest when I'm tired (and not just mask it by shoving a load of sugar in my mouth) so this is a good reminder.

NerrSnerr · 21/09/2019 16:45

People post memes like this for likes or in the case of MN, replies saying how great it is. Just like FB.

But some people have said that it has been helpful for them.

If a thread like this is so tedious why not go and have witty and intelligent conversation on another thread (or whatever it is you're looking for?)

Bunkerlife · 21/09/2019 16:53

@nosauce I'm sure if Socks wanted likes she would have posted it on Facebook but she posted it here for anyone who was having a bad day "just because" it was a nice thing to do, get over it, there are still some nice people on MN.
Not everyone is able to post in rl about their MH struggles.
Everything doesn't have to descend into a bitchfest, if people spent their time being nice and kind to their fellow human beings the world would be a nicer place and so would MN.

derxa · 21/09/2019 18:45
