Stolen photo?

I recently went to a friend's birthday party and as you can imagine, lots of photos were taken by everyone there. I also took a lot of photos on my mobile phone and I have just noticed that someone else who was there has posted a photo which I took on the night onto a Whatsapp group.

The photo is definitely the one I took, there is absolutely no doubt about that.

I didn't send this photo to anyone and am completely baffled as to how someone else could have got it off my phone as it was definitely in my possession all evening. Does anyone have any idea how this could have been done please?

God we’re all such Brexiteers not believe this. (Am I doing it right @Malaka123?)

InsertFunnyUsername · 19/09/2019 21:06

I'm amazed Brexit managed to be mentioned on this thread, Is no topic safe?

Anyway OP I'm glad you solved it, Its just a bit strange. No one doubts phones can be hacked but to do all that, just to take credit for a photo? Strange.

MmmBlowholes · 19/09/2019 21:14

Bullshit 😂 some folk will go to any lengths so they don't have to admit they're wrong!

c3pu · 19/09/2019 21:17

I'm an IT professional in a very security conscious business - and I'm pleased to report that the OP is completely bonkers.

That isn't how this works.

That isn't how any of this works.

I think the part I love the most about this is the fact that this guy apparently used this highly illegal, highly rare non existent technology to nick a shitty party popper photo. Like, the OP’s photography skills are apparently so amazing That the friend’s DP, despite not even being at the party (?); somehow knew that the OP had taken a breathtakingly beautiful photo, took control of his partner’s phone, ‘hacked’ into the OP’s phone using nefarious means, then stole only that photo ... all for some pathetic credit on WhatsApp? The pettiness is hilarious! Grin

georgialondon · 19/09/2019 21:42

Ok OP it makes you feel better we'll all pretend your explanation is correct ConfusedHmmWink

BanKittenHeels · 19/09/2019 21:45

Yeah this isn’t a thing OP, if you think it is then you should report the chap in question to the police.

I can believe that the two photos are one and the same but I still don't understand how it moved from your phone to your friend e

Humour me please and explain it in a way for dummies

PicsInRed · 19/09/2019 21:51

It seems that the OP sent the photo to her friend, whose partner then posted it.

I'm guessing the "tracker" is a shared iCloud account. 🤣👏

CookPassBabtridge · 19/09/2019 21:54

This is the funniest thread I've read in ages.

user1473878824 · 19/09/2019 21:55

@coconuttelegraph maybe the friend’s boyfriend is a wizard? That seems most likely now.

PancakeAndKeith · 19/09/2019 22:16

I did read your post properly, op, I just mistyped in my reply.

I still don’t get how her having a tracker on her phone means she can access your pictures.
And all this was so she could claim credit for a picture? Really? Why go through so much faff for a picture from a party?

Is your phone android or iPhone, op?

MKRNZ · 19/09/2019 22:44

Photo or it didn't happen.

Soola · 19/09/2019 23:52

I’ve messaged MI5 regarding the op’s explanation of events and an agent has replied with this.

@Soola I’ve messaged MI5

We know. My mate Pete has got some kind of thing on his kettle that lets us all look at your messages.

FairyDust92 · 20/09/2019 00:57

I'm not a techie sort of person but I don't doubt that he could take something from your phone. So many things people can do now it's actually quite scary.

HappyBumbleBee · 20/09/2019 01:04

Sorry OP but am I being really thick here in wondering WHY your friends partner has a tracker on her phone (which she knows about and doesn't care) and has somehow used her phone to pinch one of your photos.....then sent it to a WhatsApp group you're a part of.....alerting you to the fact he has nicked your pic - WHY?????
Have YOU asked him/them WHY???

"Nowt so strange as folk" springs to mind!

mawof3soontobe · 20/09/2019 01:23

Oh wow, I don't think I've ever seen such elaborate story making in all my life! Sometimes it's better to admit you were a bit silly before you go off and be a huge, massive, colossally BIG bit silly and make a twit of yourself Blush

NightsOfCabiria · 20/09/2019 01:25

Please come back and continue the crazy OP!

tvdinnertracks · 20/09/2019 01:31

What? Just.. what?

Aus84 · 20/09/2019 01:50

Haha, my kids get a bit hysterical when they're trying to cover a lie with an elaborate story too OP.

CircleofWillis · 20/09/2019 02:42

You are all just mean! This happened to me a few weeks ago! A genius who works at the apple store put spyware on his flat mate's girl friend's mum's phone and now they are all laughing about my drunken pole dancing photos on the WhatsApp group they set up.
Reader I married him.
