Mirrors is this weird?

sashamichele · 15/09/2019 18:30

We're a household of 7. Myself,dp 3 teens (14,16,17) and two little ones 5 & 2.

There is 1 full length mirror by the front door and my 2 teen DD's have a light up make up mirror each on their dressing table. There is no mirrors anywhere else not even in the bathroom. Would you say that's weird? My mum reckons it is Confused

I wouldn't like it, but each to their own. If it works for you then no problem.

WalkersAreNotTheOnlyCrisps · 15/09/2019 18:35

I find it a little odd not to have one in the bathroom, but I wouldn't call you weirdos.

BlueBirdGreenFence · 15/09/2019 18:55

We only have one but it's in the bathroom.

Where does your husband shave?

I don’t have many mirrors but all the bathrooms have them.

MrsTommyBanks · 15/09/2019 19:29

I'd find it odd not to have one in a bathroom.

oldenoughtobehavebetter · 15/09/2019 19:50

How do you brush your teeth well without a bathroom mirror?

TheSandman · 15/09/2019 19:55

Where does your husband shave?

Chin I would guess, other than that I don't see it's anyone's business but his!

VulcanRay · 15/09/2019 19:59

I would find it a faff to not have a full length mirror upstairs, but that’s because I love clothes, putting outfits together etc. I guess it’s also a bit weird to not have a mirror in the bathroom but I could live without one.

EdWinchester · 15/09/2019 20:03

No mirrors in the bathroom? That is really odd. What about your husband/son shaving or teeth brushing or general bathroom preening?

What about your bedroom? Do you not have a mirror in there?

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 15/09/2019 20:10

That does seem a bit weird to me, especially not having one in the bathroom.

SouthWestmom · 15/09/2019 20:57

Wow. Need to count ours:

Bedroom 1 one on wall
Bedroom 2 one freestanding floor length one face one small magnifying
Bedroom 3 one full length
Bedroom 4 one on wall
Landing one 3/4 on wall
Bathroom one on wall

Hallway - large full length
Loo - cabinet mirror
Stairs - face height

So that's 11

Antigonads · 15/09/2019 21:00

We have a huge mirror over the fireplace in both lounges, a mirror in the bathroom, a mirror on two dressing tables and my whole wall of wardrobes has mirrored doors. Light and increased ‘space’.

It is weird to have no mirror in bathroom, yes. As in, very unusual.

Bapman · 15/09/2019 21:02

It’s weird not having one in the bathroom IMO

darkriver19886 · 15/09/2019 21:03

I have one mirror in the house. I hate them.

Ronsters · 15/09/2019 21:06

Not weird, but I'd find it inconvenient. I've got a full lenght mirror in my bedroom and one in the bathroom. I use the bathroom for putting make up on as light is better.

sashamichele · 16/09/2019 00:07

Well we moved here 5 years ago and have never got round to putting a mirror on the bathroom. Dp shaves in the garden he just has a stubble electric shaver so never clean shaved. I don't need to look at myself whilst cleaning my teeth so never saw it as an inconvenience. The full length one by the front door everyone users to check their self out before leaving the house and I use it to put my make up on. It's never bothered us but my mother thinks it's odd

Not even a bedroom ceiling mirror OP? Yes, very strange I'd say.

Whoops75 · 16/09/2019 00:09

Not odd but I would think a bathroom without a mirror looks unfinished

RavenLG · 16/09/2019 00:11

Your husband shaves in the garden....

pikapikachu · 16/09/2019 00:18

I need the bathroom one so I can check that there's no toothpaste or face wash on my face after I do my teeth or wash my face.

Fraggling · 16/09/2019 08:06

Your husband shaves in the garden with an electric shaver???????

Heyboyo · 16/09/2019 08:12

oldenoughtobehavebetter

I’ve never looked in a mirror to brush my teeth. I know where they are.

pikapikachu · 16/09/2019 13:56

Does he shave in all weather like rain and ice? Very strange.
