My best friend had a Rick Astley birthday cake. His face was painted on the icing.
Was an epic cake 😁
We were 10 ate pink blancmange and ice cream and watched friday the 13th as well.
So of its time. 😂😂

When I was 10 I watched The Fog at my friends house. She had loads of cats and dogs and I had a terrible allergy. I walked home scared to death and my eyes had swollen up like golf balls. My mum went nuts Shock

My birthday was on a Saturday but the school was 100 so we had to go to school for the morning! And I got one of those monkeys that sucked it's thumb

When I was 10 I watched Clueless on video tape at a friend’s birthday sleepover. It’s still my favourite film tbh 😂.

When I was 10, I did an awesome poster about saving the rainforest.
I used those thick felt tip pens and recall the "oops" feeling after absentmindedly sucking one without the lid on.

That was 30 years ago and now I'm one of the adults whose responsibility I imagined it was to stop it. I haven't.

I got not one but 2 package of magic pens for my birthday. The onea that changed colour to the colour of the tip when you used the white magic pen over the top of them.

When I was 10 I got chicken pox, I was very ill and ended up in hospital. Grease and Saturday night fever were big hits.

When I was 10 we moved from our old terraced house to a brand new house on council estate. We thought it was a palace! We now had a proper bathroom instead of a tin bath in front of the fire. Not only did we now have an upstairs toilet but a downstairs one aswell and it was indoors instead of at the bottom of the yard! And central heating! But I missed my old school and my friends and my nanna just living round the corner and the park with the lovely trees, a pond, swings and slide. The playground near our new house was made of concrete and there weren't any trees.

When I was 10 I got a red record player in a case with a handle and the album knights in white satin.
I got 10 birthday cards and life was good.

When I was 10 I wanted blue satin pedal pushers, a frill front blouse and t-bars. Then ska hit and I wanted a two tone skirt and docs

I didn't get either.

When I was 10 I had the best birthday, worried that my brothers birth (due on my birthday) would overshadow mine they organised my first proper birthday party at the city farm. We saw all the animals then went crazy in a soft play room - I had shiny electric blue leggings, a sparkly headband and leg warmers it was ace!
Brother turned up 3 weeks early so was already there, thankfully I liked him anyway.

When I was 10 I got a new pony, a sweet dapple grey called Starsky. (Starsky & Hutch). He was already named.

Buggy Malone came out at the cinema and it was a huge hit.

When I was ten, one of my birthday presents was the cassette single of the Tetris gameboy game soundtrack. I loved it and listened to it a lot 😁

When I was 10 I spent all my pocket money on things I thought might make people like me because one girl made up things about me & no-one would let me play with them. It didn't get any better.

I went to see The Singing Kettle ... I was the oldest there by a long shot and hated it ! I can’t remember the rest of the day other than that . I think my aunty got me lots of Tammy girl clothing too .

When I was 10 I got a tapestry kit. I lost the needle in the garden and went in crying to my mother. She told me it was bad luck to cry on your birthday and that if I didn't stop I'd stay that height forever. That made me cry even more.

When I was 10 wearing a shell suit was the trendiest thing imaginable.

In the summer we wore bright fluorescent coloured t-shirts with black cycling shirts that had a stripe down each leg the same colour as the top.
