When they see us
The Kaleif Browder story - so sad
Making a murderer

13th. Directed by Ava DeVerney (When They See Us). It is incredible. I learned more about black history from that movie than I learned through my entire school life.
Watch it.

@endofacentury the Kaleif Browder story was the first thing I watched on Netflix I think. Just awful.

Talking of history, id also be really interested in any documentaries about the Irish troubles.

Not Netflix but bbc iplayer
Just started watching a documentary on the Yorkshire Ripper. V good so far. Discusses the impact that 70s attitudes towards certain women in society had on the investigation.

HandsOffMyRights · 18/09/2019 20:04

It's a drama, but The People vs OJ Simpson is superb.

NewMe2019 · 18/09/2019 21:39

Definitely Mindhunter. One of my favourites.

Just finished Unbelievable.

Making a Murderer was great.

Watching for suggestions myself.

Just revisiting this for new ideas. I struggled through The Staircase , it seemed very slow to me. Fascinating though, I didn't like Michael Pieterson at all!

I started watching unbelievable this morning and finished it tonight. Very well done and absolutely shocking.

November 13th- Attack on Paris. Made by the brothers who filmed the 9/11 documentary. The interviews with survivors are heartbreaking.

raskolnikova · 05/10/2019 00:29

Not Netflix, but I recommend listening to the This American Life episode that Unbelievable is based on too

I also don't think anyone has mentioned the Netflix documentary Shadow of Truth yet. Also quite shocking, especially the final episode.
