(Inspired by the wonderful cosy books thread in What We're Reading)
So the nights are drawing in and our thoughts are turning to woolly jumpers and evenings by the fire, hot drinks, pyjamas and candles. I have some trusty old favourites that help me feel cosy at this time of year;
Smells: glade spiced apple cinnamon & nutmeg candle/plug in; yankee maple syrup candle; pumpkin scented candles if I can find them. I would love to find a similarly comforting burner oil but haven't so far!
Food: stews, especially Irish or beef;
mashed swede; parsnips
Drink: Starbucks pumpkin spice latte with cream, I had my first of the season this week and it was like a hug in a mug
Tv: Frasier - I can't imagine it ever being warm and sunny in Seattle! Love the episodes where they stay in log cabins and all the scenes in Cafe Nervosa;
Friends when they're wearing chenille and Joey has his big jumpers on;
Call The Midwife
Films: disregarding Christmas movies because for me these are strictly December viewing only - pretty much any black and white film, but I'll say Rebecca or Mr Smith Goes to Washington;
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Downton Abbey film next week, I'm going to book reclining seats and take a blanket
Music: this is the category I'm struggling with. Apart from Christmas tunes it's hard to think of cosy music but so far in my 'Cosy' playlist I have Norah Jones Don't Know Why, John Mayer Who Says and my favourite so far, Iron and Wine Each Coming Night. I would love some suggestions for this category as I'm sure there are lots I've forgotten!
