Why are you up?

I cocked up badly today and let the toddler fall.asleep in the car at 5.45. Couldn't wake him when I got home so put him to bed thinking it was only an hour earlier than his usual bedtime (he slept through a nappy change and getting pyjamas on!) so he would probably just wake an hour earlier than normal. WRONG. He was up bawling his head off at midnight and only settled back to sleep about 15 minutes ago. I am, of course, wide awake now. DD will likely have me up at 6.30. Sob.

So why is everyone else awake?

Feeding my 9 week old baby who hasn't fed since 6.45 as she's been asleep!

MakeAWhish · 11/09/2019 03:22

I thought my 8 week old baby was waking for a feed but he wasn't, he is still fast asleep and I have now ordered a new mattress for our bed online. Being awake at this time is dangerous.

Sciatica! So sick of it.

I turned out the light just after 9pm. Now wide awake! That's the menopause...

ShrimpingViolet · 11/09/2019 03:53

Four-month-old DD is doing extremely noisy sleeping. Really no need.

cheesytoasties · 11/09/2019 03:54

Pregnant. Heartburn, active baby, thinking about imminent house move. And itchy arse from sodding piles.

MaggieHorseRustler · 11/09/2019 03:55

My 20 month old is ill and sleepless with a cold and DP took over at 1am and I still can't sleep! Have to get up at 5 for work! On the plus side I just met our milkman and he was very friendly.

absopugginglutely · 11/09/2019 03:57

Fell asleep at 9pm putting my 2 year old to bed and she woke up with a night terror at 3am. She is now sound asleep next to me while I’m wide awake being all anxious about all aspects of my life!

pastapestoparmesan · 11/09/2019 03:58

Steroids. Slept fine for four hours, now more awake than an awake thing.

minesagin37 · 11/09/2019 03:59

Sleep pattern getting messed up now due to menopause. I was asleep by 9 but just woke so that's me done for the night probably.

BuffyFanGirl · 11/09/2019 04:02

3yo has croup and been up listening to his horrendous breathing all night and hoping he doesn't stop breathing all together because it sounds awful tbh. I think I've slept for an hour. Two hours max.

CarolineKate · 11/09/2019 04:03

Toddler woke up with a leaked nappy at 3am. They are back asleep. I am not lol

sanityisamyth · 11/09/2019 04:03

Insomnia. I wake up at 3 every morning.

Viviene · 11/09/2019 04:06

Toddler wanted to get in our bed.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/09/2019 04:08

I'm in America, it's only 11pm here. I'm horribly jet lagged though and keep waking up at 4am.

Winterfellismyhome · 11/09/2019 04:08

On my way to work 👎🏻

surlycurly · 11/09/2019 04:09

Insomnia here too- I usually wake at 4am!

LifeOfBox · 11/09/2019 04:17

Menopausal insomnia- another one.

I am so sad, I had my beautiful dog pts yesterday, one of those things that hits you a few seconds after you wake up - it’s real. My head hurts on the inside I have cried so much.

onyourway · 11/09/2019 04:21

Sorry to hear your news @LifeOfBox 💐

Another menopausal 4am waker here. Can't be bothered to go to the loo.

ineednewhair · 11/09/2019 04:23

@LifeOfBox I'm so sorry for your loss Thanks
Up since 3.20 with my 3 month old DD for a night feed.. she's just settling back to sleep after it , I'm hoping I fall back to sleep as easily as she has!

Doublethesarcasm · 11/09/2019 04:25

3:45 and bing I'm wide awake Confused

Peanut91 · 11/09/2019 04:26

My 11 month old is sick wiyh a cold and has been up screaming for the past 2 hours. Calpol is now kicking in and he has fallen asleep between DH and I. I am nos wide awake!

tabbycat985 · 11/09/2019 04:28

My 1 year old sleeps in one - two hour bursts, since the day he was born. Tonight he decided to sleep for 4 hours straight & I'm now so excited to see if he does it again, that I can't sleep!

@LifeOfBox I'm so sorry to hear about your furbaby. They really do leave an imprint that you can't explain unless you've been through itThanks

lightlypoached · 11/09/2019 04:29

Stress, menopause, drank red wine last night. Great combo.

Am going to try Pzizz app to get me back to sleep.

Night everyone zzzzzzzz

LifeOfBox · 11/09/2019 04:30

Think you both. It’s so hard - I don’t seem to be able to stop crying. It has been a really tough year. H left in March.

Dd is a year younger than the dog, hasn’t cried - she is bottling everything up - another thing to worry about.

Onyourway - I do that all the time, not going to loo. I do find that I can go back to sleep when I can be bothered.

I hope you can get back to sleep hair.
