Anyone up,... just had an unexpected visitor in my hotel room

Someone just walked into my hotel room. Apparently the connecting door I presumed was locked really wasn't. Also apparently 12.30am is a perfectly reasonable time for someone in the next room to start trying to open random doors. FFS where did he think it went?

I'm not entirely sure of the etiquette in such matters but I told him to fuck off. I may also have been a tad grumpy with the night manager who I suggested might want to secure my room.

Of course now I can't sleep. Sighs.

Hope you get a refund! Not sure I’ve ever checked the door....but it’s been years since I stayed anywhere with an interconnected room. I’d just assume it was locked, will definitely check next time.

I can't believe you complained to the hotel about it, surely it's really easy to just check as soon as you arrive. I think this is on you personally for not bothering to lock your door before you go to bed.

Christ there's always one 😂

Something similar happened to some family friends of ours when on holiday in Spain, they were awoken in the early hours by a drunken man who'd managed to get into their room thinking it was his own and then tried to get into bed with them. They shoved him back out onto the corridor and bolted the door behind them

those doors are the most ridiculous invention! Who even uses them?
Is this a real question? Families with children, so they have two rooms.
