Mine is paper straws. They make my fingers tense up. Shudder.

The sound of empty coat hangers clanging or banging together (never met anyone else with this one). I can't touch kitchen roll, polystyrene against cardboard packaging and those microfibre cloths that catch on tough skin. Oh and snoring.

mawof3soontobe · 10/09/2019 18:48

Seeing children biting and sucking on their gloves Envy definitely not envy! That and the feeling of a dry cotton ball being rubbed between your fingers and it makes that horrid squeek feeling! Aaaah!

CandyLeBonBon · 10/09/2019 18:48

Dry sponges

Sparadrap · 10/09/2019 18:49

Eels. Alive or dead, big or small. The thought of eating jellied eels makes me shudder Shock

exWifebeginsAgainat46 · 10/09/2019 18:56

things that are Too Big. it’s hard to quantify, but it’s the scale of things that gives me the horrors. like giant display crayons, or there’s a park somewhere with a giant chair and it makes me want to scream and be sick.

i think i’ve traced this one back to the Silver Jubilee, an ear infection with a temperature, and a Great Big Souvenir Pencil.

gives me the proper willies. auuugh.

Arrowfanatic · 10/09/2019 18:58

Wet wool, ugh, my teeth feel weird just thinking about it.

Adult feet, boak! Ironically i teach karate which means lots of bare feet.

Ears, especially adult ears. I just want to vomit. My nan asked me to put her hearing aids in today. She has enourmous ears and i just couldnt do it.

Swimming room changing room floors

Kernowgal · 10/09/2019 19:02

Other people's discarded long hair, in a wet situation (couldn't think how to describe it!). Can't abide it, which is tricky given I'm a keen swimmer and our local pool isn't the cleanest. Proper gives me the boak. Just went swimming and got someone else's hair stuck round my fingers - bleurrrrrgh.

Kernowgal · 10/09/2019 19:03

Haha witchita we're on the same lines there :)

JaneJeffer · 10/09/2019 19:05

Other people's feet.

MagicKingdom17 · 10/09/2019 19:05

The inky, dry residue that is left when you’ve touched a newspaper!

Doesn’t make my skin crawl but I hate when people write “ Spag Bowl”! Surely they realise the bol bit is short for bolegnese?!
Plasters floating in the swimming pool
A hair in my food
I love eggs but heave if I find whole hard boiled egg in a hot dish 🤮. My Mum used to do a fennel & breadcrumbs thing with hard boiled egg & just thinking about it made me want to throw up!
When customers hold a note in their mouth before giving it to me! Gross!
People with halitosis or BO

Bunnylady53 · 10/09/2019 19:15

Or should it be bolognese

Phycadelicsilhouette · 10/09/2019 19:16

Brilliant thread, some comments have made me laugh and some so relatable!

Biggest one ever I can’t believe someone else has! @LifeBeginsNow velvet is abhorrent! I can’t even look at it without feeling actual fear and nausea let alone touch it!

Also.... 😂
Wrinkly fingers from swimming... mine or other peoples, I have to spread my fingers out and pretend they don’t exist when I take my DC swimming and I can’t touch their hands either once they’re wrinkly.. although they’ll chase me around with them laughing! 😂 makes me want to actually physically cry and curl up in a ball if I feel them but I of course be an adult and hold it together haha!
Cotton wool (balls and bulk 🤢) the flat pad things are ok so long as you don’t pull them apart AT ALL!
Having even slightly dry hands and the way things feel on them (especially things like cloths and dry washing) when they catch a bit! 🤢
Anything fleshy textured makes me physically vomit so most seafood is off the cards. Smoked salmon, seared tuna, rare steak (or anything other than well done... so I don’t usually bother) yuk yuk yuk I can’t even think about it!
Light touch in a strokey way, it hurts my skin and makes me feel sick!
Tinkywinky... and all the tellytubbies actually. But mostly tinkywinky.

I could go on but I already sound odd enough 😂

Phycadelicsilhouette · 10/09/2019 19:19

@Bunnylady53 spag bowl! Infuriating lol!
Really laughed at your egg thing (sorry!) just imagining serving you a Nigerian beef stew I make with whole boiled eggs hidden inside and a slapstick horror moment unfolding 😂

Idratherhaveacupoftea · 10/09/2019 19:21

Feet. Urgh.

Quaffy · 10/09/2019 19:26

When the bin bag slides down the bin and people keep putting stuff in so there’s loads of gross, slimy stuff on the bottom of the bin you have to fish out

SpeckledyHen · 10/09/2019 19:36

Slobbering dogs and dogs licking faces 🤮

Franklymydearidontgiveadam · 10/09/2019 19:37

When people sweat like crazy at the gym and it goes all over the equipment (especially the stair climber/master) and don't clean up afterwards. X

Okurrrrrrrr · 10/09/2019 19:37

Paper on carpet. When the kids are drawing on the carpet I have to run over and move it.
Also there was a girl in primary school who would always chew the end of her woollen cardigan sleeve and oh my god the horror

YeOldeTrout · 10/09/2019 19:40

B-Johnson.

coffeeandapastry · 10/09/2019 19:43

Worryingly, I think I get all of these so far? Confused

Public swimming pools. You're basically just having a giant bath with a load of strangers and there are ALWAYS two things- Floating plasters and a lurker/human crocodile. You know, the ones (usually men) who don't really swim, they just kind of hover, half submerged, floating around, bumping into you. Urgh. Oh and that feel of slimy scum at the bottom of the pool 🤢

I haven't been swimming for a long time.

Quaffy · 10/09/2019 19:45

On the swimming pool theme, the grates at the bottom of swimming pools.

And also anything submerged in water eg the bottom of ships which are all rusty and covered in algae, or the wooden poles that hold up piers and stuff

CornedBeef451 · 10/09/2019 19:45

Chronic urticaria. And the sylvanian families thing.

fallingasleeprightnow · 10/09/2019 19:46

Nails scratching on denim. Eurgh! Can't stand jeans.
