Just DS and myself at home, its a bit chilly here today and I'm in the mood for a roast dinner but can't be arsed with the effort and dishes just for me as DS wouldn't want it.

What are you all having thats cosy and doesnt mess up the kitchen too much?

Its probably going to be ready meals for us tonight! On our way back home on the train so we'll want something quick and easy.

TateWorm · 08/09/2019 15:23

Chicken and leek risotto for us tonight. One-pot dinners are definitely my favourites to make.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/09/2019 15:24

Iffits:/

Justgivemesomepeace · 08/09/2019 15:24

Macaroni cheese with bacon lardons and spring onions and garlic bread followed by pear and blackberry crumble with custard.

QuestionableMouse · 08/09/2019 15:27

I'm having carvery through the two good to go app.

Costs like £4 and you get loads.

Topsy44 · 08/09/2019 16:59

I am doing a roast dinner but a very simple one as its just me and DD. Roast chicken, roast potatoes and green veg!

DidYeAyee · 08/09/2019 17:04

May I have the recipe for your risotto please Tate?

I've bought chicken at the shops but can't decide what do do with it.

The temptation to get a takeaway is there but there's nothing I fancy from there either!

An Admiral’s pie (fish and potato) with a side of chopped vegetables.
Fruit for pudding .

BigcatLittlecat · 08/09/2019 17:13

Spaghetti bol! Been in pot all afternoon. Have to visit Dad in hospital this evening so will call DH on way home so he can put pasta on! Easy for everyone!

Itsfineactually · 08/09/2019 17:13

I'd love that recipe too please @tate I love one pot recipes and have the big green/yellow roasting tin recipe book. It's a life saver on busy days!

I'm making chicken casserole for the 1st time this year, autumn and all that. I'm not expecting my dd to eat it though!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 08/09/2019 17:15

Roast chicken, crispy potatoes from Sainsbury’s, runner beans and tender stem broccoli

MillieMoodle · 08/09/2019 17:15

We are having ready meals here as had a proper lazy afternoon!

PotterHead1985 · 08/09/2019 17:17

@IncyWincyGrownUp what's that?

I'm having fish chips and onion rings done in the fryer simply because I can still only eat on one side so it's easy to cook and eat.

UsernameTaken76 · 08/09/2019 17:19

Toad in the hole with lots of green veg and gravy. Followed by a Cadbury chocolate yogurt pot as a treat.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/09/2019 17:29

PotterHead

If it’s in we’ll have some, if it’s not we won’t.

Iffits! :o

Similar to windmill pie.

I’m pondering a bowl of noodles. I don’t think the boys will approve.

milliefiori · 08/09/2019 17:32

DH has been slaving away for hours making roast pork with crackling, stuffing, roast potatoes, apple sauce and veg. It smells gorgeous. This is why my diet always starts tomorrow and I'm the size of a house.

WutheringFrights · 08/09/2019 17:33

Cheese toasties!

Doje · 08/09/2019 17:34

Paella. I've been a bit hungover all day and it's really hit the spot!

BishopFrownofStThigh · 08/09/2019 17:35

Some brie to use up, so bacon, brie and basil spaghetti

roseenglishrose · 08/09/2019 17:35

Mince & tatties

PotterHead1985 · 08/09/2019 17:36

@IncyWincyGrownUp ah breadandpullitt!! I thought it was likely to be something like that.

I have just realised I have some Lidl's mini cannoli in the freezer. Yanking them to defrost for dessert now. Loves me cannoli

Herocomplex · 08/09/2019 17:38

Chicken, mash, broccoli, leeks, bread sauce, gravy.

Frith2013 · 08/09/2019 17:38

Salmon fillets with potatoes, carrots and a little bit of courgette and sweet pepper to use them up!

Then damson crumble and custard.

Sandsnake · 08/09/2019 17:38

Toad in the hole! Ultimate Sunday dinner, especially when Autumn is in the air. It’s also one of DH’s specialties so I’m currently sitting on the sofa watching cricket.
