Just DS and myself at home, its a bit chilly here today and I'm in the mood for a roast dinner but can't be arsed with the effort and dishes just for me as DS wouldn't want it.

What are you all having thats cosy and doesnt mess up the kitchen too much?

Pork chops, roast potatoes and veg

HelenaJustina · 14/09/2019 17:12

I’m going out for dinner with a friend but DC and DH are having jacket potatoes and a wide selection and of toppings! Lazy but still I’ve had an exhausting week and a busy day today.

FurryDogMother · 14/09/2019 17:17

Twice baked potatoes with chopped bacon, chorizo and pepperoni, peppers and cheese, served with beanz á la Heinz. Doing a full roast beef Sunday lunch tomorrow, so taking it easy tonight :)

Shadow1234 · 14/09/2019 17:19

I will be having two salmon and cream cheese bagels. Have felt really fluey last couple of days and really don't have an appetite atm. Rest of the family will be having a chinese takeaway.

itsme · 14/09/2019 17:20

Husband away for work, eldest DD on a sleepover, so younger DD and I are going to have a curry night, and watch Barbie movies. . . I am so earning my parenting halo tonight, lol.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 14/09/2019 17:57

Halo You certainly are

CakeNinja · 14/09/2019 18:10

Lobster rolls with proper chips. Can’t bloody wait, I’ve been ill the last few days and it probably won’t do me any favours but I’m hungry and it’s one of my favourites.
Dc3 is having a steak as he doesn’t like lobster Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/09/2019 18:10

Barbie movies?
Crikey, that's bad, I thought I was hard done by having to watch a gazillion episodes of Pokemon when Dd was younger.
Please tell me you have alcohol or hard drugs Grin

Bourbonbiccy · 14/09/2019 18:13

I've had a twin pack of Jaffa cake for lunch/ starters, then ice cream and fruit and nut once My son is in bed.

My son and his dad had roast chicken, sprouts, carrots, butternut squash and broccoli.
Followed by yoghurt and "mummies fruit muffins" (refined sugar free for son, he's only 2)

Bloodybridget · 14/09/2019 18:47

DP is making a chicken traybake. I hope I can eat a reasonable amount and enjoy it, I had chemo yesterday and most things taste awful.

Dr1ftw00d · 14/09/2019 18:51

Bloodybridget · 15/09/2019 13:51

@ihopeyourcakeisshit, thank you, that's very kind. I did eat it but it was rather too much!

mbosnz · 15/09/2019 15:17

iklboo · 15/09/2019 15:18

Beef in ale with herb dumplings, crusty bread and veg

Strawberry cheesecake

GordonBrockman · 15/09/2019 15:42

pinch of nom Cuban beef here. Normally always do a roast but I’m so tired (Pil have been here all week) and house is a mess so a one pot meal it is

Pinkarsedfly · 15/09/2019 15:45

Sausages for dh and veggie sausages for me, with baby roast new potatoes and whatever veg is kicking around.

Would usually do a massive Sunday roast, but both DSes are now away at uni so it’s not worth the bother.

Bloodybridget · 15/09/2019 16:23

Thanks @mbosnz, kind thoughts much appreciated. I like food so much, it's horrible not being able to enjoy it!

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/09/2019 16:45

I'm having a classic tonight, cheese and bean toasties done in a breville triangle toastie maker. Grin

tigerbear · 15/09/2019 16:54

Gnocchi with seafood salad, grilled peppers and truffle powder (currently on holiday in Italy). With a bottle of astonishingly good 1.40 Euro red wine Smile

PanamaPattie · 15/09/2019 17:07

Steak, chips and salad. CBA to cook.

DameXanaduBramble · 15/09/2019 17:10

Dh has spatchcocked a chicken to have with cauliflower cheese and stir fried tender stem broccoli

Ellapaella · 15/09/2019 17:29

Goulash! Inspired by the autumn food thread. It's cooking now and I can't wait, I've been ill with some kind of flu type virus and spent the last few days in bed, feeling much better today but in need of comfort food. Plus it's really cold here. Having it with green beans and potato wedges.
