What petty thing is stressing you out today?

For me, I have some girlfriends coming around to my place for an afternoon tea and my place is a blimmin' mess and I can't fully clean it up in time. And I'm having one of those days where no outfit looks right and my hair is going to go frizzy no matter what. Ugh!

Vent away!

The basil growing on my balcony has something wrong with it, when it has been lush and vigorous all summer. It is making me sad, but it's such a little thing.

LorelaiRoryEmily · 03/09/2019 23:10

My son is starting preschool tomorrow. I have no idea what he needs to bring. They didn't give me any idea and they've been closed the past two weeks so I couldn't ring and find out.

He can't sleep. I can't sleep. Dh is blissfully snoring.

Bailiffs 😞

MissCalamity · 04/09/2019 08:09

The clutch on my car is broke so I have to walk to school with the kids in the rain, they will be moaning the whole 12 minutes there Hmm

Jolonglegs · 05/09/2019 15:36

MissCalamity - The clutch on my car is broke..
Hardly petty Calam! That must be horrendous, I hope you're sorted soon.

darkriver19886 · 05/09/2019 15:38

Money I have spent in the past. I can't change anything about it Confused
Just need to get on top now.

Ginfordinner · 05/09/2019 15:41

Not stressing me, but more a mild annoyance. I wish there were non smoking areas on beaches. Am currently on a beach in Greece downwind of a family of smokers. They could easily put the non smokers in an area upwind in each section of sunbeds.

I have paid for my sunbed and didn't realise they were smokers as they weren't smoking at the time.

DD has not actually agreed the lift shares for her DofE practise despite telling us yesterday it was all sorted and the legs we had said we could so were fine. I simply cannot do any others because I can’t get off work.

catwithflowers · 05/09/2019 15:49

That my home made Thai spring rolls aren’t exactly uniform in size and shape. 😕

Flower777 · 05/09/2019 15:57

I have a day off today and both kids are now back on school. I just want some time to myself for what feels like the first time in 10 weeks. But DH is also here fannying around which is making me feel really frustrated. Just go to work!!!!

Milkstick · 05/09/2019 16:23

@flower777 I am right there with you. I expected DC to annoy me, but he was fine. DH took the last week off and by the end of it I wanted to run away screaming. Today he showed up at lunch and OMFG JUST GIVE ME PEACE.

Milkstick · 05/09/2019 16:26

I am annoyed that on TOMM (cleaning method thing) there is no mention of dishes anywhere. I don't have the space for a dishwasher (and I save the water for the plants) and it takes me eons to wash up because I'm clumsy and it's just all lies. Nobody cleans that quickly. F off.

Ginfordinner · 05/09/2019 16:31

My post should read. They could easily put a smoking section downwind in each section of sunbeds.

edgen2019 · 05/09/2019 16:33

My husband has only one topic of conversation these days its Breggggzit, all day every day.

MrsJackRackham · 05/09/2019 16:38

I went back to work after 2 weeks off and someone was sitting on my seat on the bus Angry the Universities started back when I was away and some upstart student is now sitting on the seat I've sat on for FOUR YEARS. Sad

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 05/09/2019 16:53

DD weed in her car seat and I’m going to have to wash it again.

I WFH-ed today as a favour to boss, as I don’t usually work on Thursdays, and tech support gave me the wrong cable for the loan laptop. I then spent 2.5 hours on the phone to them while they tried (and failed) to install software on my personal laptop so I could work. Meanwhile, I’m getting a blizzard of messages from colleagues asking why things hadn’t been done. Aaargh.

I got a lecture from DD’s 1-1 TA about lateness. I was already hugely stressed from trying to get DD (LDs and autism) to cooperate.

Tomorrow has to be better.

The 'another thing or another think coming' threads Grin

Owlish · 05/09/2019 16:57

Obviously, that should have been 'pedants' salute' Angry

writersbeenblocked · 05/09/2019 17:11

An ulcer on the side of my mouth. I can't stop catching it!

And the fact that my ready meal sorry not sorry takes 55 minutes to cook. It used to be 30. Does a change of packaging warrant an extra 25 minutes in the oven? Not really! It better not taste different...

And while we're on the subject of ready meals, another one I occasionally have has had the recipe changed to include one of my allergens in it! It's not exactly a common allergen either so I can't even ask them to change it! First world problems, anyone?

lucysmam · 05/09/2019 20:52

I can't decide which hair straighteners to buy . Proper first world problem right there Hmm.

My previous ones were GHD - lasted 3 years, so about 12 ish years less than my original GHD's & I wasn't impressed with them.

Before them, I had Babyliss - about £20 and not bad for the money but not my beloved original GHD's.

I'm swiveling between cheapies for now, and seeing if a local repair shop can fix the original GHD ones. Or Cloud 9. Because well, they sound like the best thing since sliced bread in the straightener world.

I've been deciding for two days so far & am no further so I look like a fraggle Grin
