What petty thing is stressing you out today?

For me, I have some girlfriends coming around to my place for an afternoon tea and my place is a blimmin' mess and I can't fully clean it up in time. And I'm having one of those days where no outfit looks right and my hair is going to go frizzy no matter what. Ugh!

Vent away!

My new cushion covers don't really match the sofa and bear only a passing resemblance to the colours on pictures of them depicted on Amazon.

I am sitting here glaring at them in a most unreasonable way, and contemplating their imminent demise.

I’ve had 2 hours sleep after a night shift last night.
I’ve got to collect ds from school then take him to his swimming lesson.
I’ve made a curry in the slow cooker.
Feel like I have had to do everything. Sulky.

But I haven’t, I’m being petty, grumpy, whinny.

Going to enjoy the curry then put clean sheets on the bed, have a bath then... bliss!

Thecatisboss · 03/09/2019 14:19

I'm stressing because last year when feeling healthy and fit I signed up to do Great North Run and its now this Sunday! Plus hotel we booked in January has had lots of reviews recently saying basically it's mouldy, dirty and horrible.

Hahaha26 · 03/09/2019 14:20

Dd started new 6th form today, I’ve received a text saying she’s not liking it, she knows no one and is struggling

YorkshireGoldFanClub · 03/09/2019 14:21

Colleague telling me across an office full of people I've "made a cock up" when actually said cock up is actually his responsibility and all I did was try to help out by stepping in at the last minute when he booked a crucial meeting despite knowing he was going away on holiday. Really affected me and its so petty, I've been furious all day.

BirthdayCakes · 03/09/2019 14:36

That I haven't started my new regime of swim/walk/allotment/good food/less napping

Instead I started work then drove to the bakery (a 7 minute walk). They only had bread rolls and quiche left. Bought a slice of quiche for lunch and thought we could have some bread rolls with dinner.

Ate quiche at lunch then bread roll with cheese.

Then had a nap in front of a rerun of Celebs Go Dating.

This is very petty and sad, but... I made a character in WoW Classic, and instead of enjoying fun nostalgia, I just got really frustrated with slowly running back and forth and getting killed by fucking murlocs.

Also, my friend hasn't answered my messages, while I'm trying to be the go-between so our friendship group could meet up, and instead of trying to contact her, others are bugging me to try more. Yet none of them want to start a Whatsapp group or anything like that, so we could co-ordinate!

ellzebellze · 03/09/2019 15:03

In a household of 4 adults why does it have to be me who is the default person for deciding what we're having for dinner?

Why can't anybody else use their initiative?

Foslady · 03/09/2019 15:28

@ellzebellze that is why before I go shopping everyone has to contribute to the meal plan for the week, irritated the crap out of me too!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 03/09/2019 16:01

Oh god yes I have this in our house! And then I get 'oh are we having x again?' You bloody think of /shop for / and cook for something then!

MulticolourMophead · 03/09/2019 16:32

Mine is seriously pretty. My tummy is rumbling in that "pre-fart" rumble and I'm stressed about exactly when I go to the loos to let it out instead of embarrassing myself in the office. It could be a while, you see......

flamingjune123 · 03/09/2019 16:42

I just made a huge quantity of fresh tomato sauce for freezing. Towards the end of cooking I accidentally added a load of ginger thinking it was garlic. I've been picking out bits of nasty nasty ginger for an hour but can still smell
It in the sauce. Bollocks

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 03/09/2019 16:51

Ds starts secondary tomorrow and I’ve bought the wrong colour socks.

He also has a serious medical condition and is moving from a small primary with a TA to look after him, to a huge secondary with no help.

So I’m focussing on sock colour, grey instead of black, disaster.

CellarFloor · 03/09/2019 17:54

How awful my after baby belly is

Hairyheadphones · 03/09/2019 17:58

I think DD2 has chicken pox, I want everyone to go to school tomorrow so I can have a few hours to myself!

RocketRacoonsFurryBalls · 03/09/2019 18:17

Spent the morning throwing up, so today is turning out to be even less productive than usual, if that’s possible.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/09/2019 18:33

DS2 has brought a big fucking stick into the house. He's not doing anything wrong per se but it's annoying me...

Span1elsRock · 03/09/2019 18:39

I had an appointment with the practice nurse this morning at 8,30 am for routine bloods. Had to wait 5 weeks to get an early morning appointment. Get there at 8.20am and sit there until 8.55am when she condescends to call me in....... I mentioned that I was going to be really late for work and she said "Oh I've not realised the time ..........." I don't know how I kept my cool tbh. We had last week (1st break in a year) off from work - our own business - and am manically trying to catch up. I could have filled that half hour 3 times over Hmm.

Catmar · 03/09/2019 19:27

Going away for a few days tomorrow. Have to pack. I hate packing. I always worry I'll forget something and DP will be arsey about it.

Silversun83 · 03/09/2019 19:35

@rocketracoonsfurryballs - hope you're feeling a bit better now. Same here..plus this afternoon Envy (Not envy). DC have both have it as did DH so it was probably inevitable. Since DC1 was born three years ago, I've had five sickness bugs (all most likely brought home from nursery as they have coincided with starting/moving nurseries/rooms.. when does it end?!

greasyspooncafe · 03/09/2019 19:52

@GoodwithRocksandGems are you anywhere near Tunbridge Wells? Would love some apples!

ipswichwitch · 03/09/2019 20:02

They didn’t have the prawn crackers I wanted in Asda. Not stress-worthy in itself, but just about finished me off after a day when stuff went wrong, I got annoyed by rude behaviour and I wanted some lovely stir fry for tea.

GoodwithRocksandGems · 03/09/2019 20:06

@greasyspooncafe sadly not or you would have been welcome to some 🍏

NoShitHemlock · 03/09/2019 20:29

I have posted about this bloke before but today was especially irritating....I work at one end of a large office and a man who sits somewhere in the middle has a slow cooker that he keeps under his desk to cook/reheat his lunch.

Usually its the smell that gets me (like a meercat to see where its coming from) but today he had something none smelly and proceeded to eat from the slow cooker with a spoon that he bloody clinked against the side EVERY TIME HE TOOK A BITE!

I twitched for the whole 20 minutes it took him to finish it. Just as well there is no pattern on the inside cos by the time he had finished there wouldn't have been.

managedmis · 03/09/2019 20:31

I'm starting to think we have no wine left...
