Just that. I was asked the same question in a survey earlier and chose "all creatures great & small" and was wondering what other people would like to see again?

I'd also love to see Blackadder, The Young Ones, Robin Hood, Cagney & Lacey, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and basically anything from the 80's Grin

Another vote for Brookside

Do you all mean the original programs or new ones with different actors?.

Sadly a lot of the original cast members are dead for some of the shows mentioned and to see someone trying and usually failing miserably to fill the roles is very sad and ruins the enjoyment.

No one could ever be Father Ted other than Dermot Morgan, Ardal O'Hanlon wouldn't work as well as Dougal now he's aged a bit.

I agree with you about remakes. Therefore, for the purpose of this thread, I grant everyone the power of resurrection and we will have original casts. [Grin] Except for sleazeballs and criminals. Which reminds me, I did used to like The Thick of It. Hmm

I'll have to bring back Drop the Dead Donkey Instead.

I really miss The Bill, all the eras really. There were so many brilliant characters.

I’d love to see Gladiators back. I even liked it when they rebooted it in 2008.

If they brought back Waterloo Road, I’d watch it, also Stella, No Angels, Teachers . I hardly watch any tv nowadays as the sort of programmes I like aren’t fashionable anymore. Ordinary, lighthearted dramas about ordinary people.

Someone’s probably mentioned it but All Creatures Great and Small is being revived by channel 5. I definitely read about it somewhere recently.

Ooh that could be good actually. I can see that working - have you heard who might be in it?

Not bring back, but I would have some children's tv on the main channels (BBC1, ITV1 perhaps), so that there was some understanding of what children may be watching.

BeanBag7 · 31/08/2019 07:23

Utopia
Was a dark comedy/ drama show on C4 which hav a similar vibe to Killing Eve but with a mysterious element to it - conspiracy and cover ups. It was SO good and different to anything I've seen before or since. Obviously viewing figures weren't high enough so was cancelled after 2 series.
The worst thing is nobody will ever watch those 2 series because who wants to see a show that you know will be unfinished?

BeanBag7 · 31/08/2019 07:27

Game of thrones so we could pretend the crap last series never happened and it was all a dream...

Yes, so disappointing

Eistigi · 31/08/2019 08:10

The Newsroom, with Jeff Daniels. I know it's not old but I do think it got cut in its prime, and I can just imagine how good it would be in this current political climate.

redeyetonowheregood · 31/08/2019 08:25

Northern Exposure

Spooks

Hoolihan · 31/08/2019 09:07

Franciscrawford - thank you, I was trying to think what a very peculiar practice was called. Grin

Agree about the Beiderbecke Affair too. Great series.

Spooks. But we do need to find out that Lucas North was actually a good guy, going deep, deep undercover.

linentowel · 31/08/2019 09:43

Soldier Soldier - totally love it and watch repeats.
Cagney and Lacey
Good Saturday morning TV

kittycat01 · 31/08/2019 09:53

Raffles1981 · 31/08/2019 09:57

Deadwood. The film was an utter disappointment. It deserves a few more series. Also, Banished. Had such promise.

Rugbycomet · 31/08/2019 10:00

Oohhh.....

Cracker with Robbie Coltrane
London’s Burning
Brookside
This is Your Life

I’m sure there are plenty more....

Snooks1971 · 31/08/2019 10:09

I bought the entire box set DVDs of One Foot In The Grave from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. It’s bloody hilarious!

I loved Utopia! Very disappointed that it just stopped.
Also agree with PPs about Flash Forward. Another good series that stopped abruptly!
