That beautifully red, ripe strawberries on the telly have probably been coloured in by lipstick and the gorgeous cream poured over the top may very well be PVA glue. Never looked at adverts the same way again.

@BreakfastAtSquiffanys 😂 that's not how evolution works! We are not "more evolved" than monkeys. They evolved separately from an ancestor we share and are more suited to their environment and lifestyle than we are. Have you ever tried living in a tree?

noroominthefridge · 26/08/2019 15:44

Farlington is not Portsmouth.

CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre · 26/08/2019 15:47

Correct noroom you win a voucher for Kens Kebabs!

Mxyzptlk · 26/08/2019 15:48

Try putting a paper hanky against your hand, so when you click your finger hits hanky.
The sound is muffled.

Mxyzptlk · 26/08/2019 15:57

You can get bold on Skype by using asterisks, just like on MN.

Did everyone know that?

Rosebud21 · 26/08/2019 15:59

@Biancadelrioisback humming can be done with the mouth open or closed & @dustarr73 scienceprojectideasforkids.com/humming/

Optimist1 · 26/08/2019 16:01

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight - that's interesting. I knew that if you're about to lock your car and see a window is open you just need to click the lock button and hold it down till the window closes - useful!

chomalungma · 26/08/2019 16:03

Apparently there's a jungle in Croatia.

DS told me. I was unsure but when DS says something about geography, he is usually correct.

I'd always assumed that anglerfish were reasonably small fish, like 30cm or so long but having seen a picture of someone next to one this weekend I now know the largest ones are about 1.2 metres long! Confused
The deep sea is a horrifying place!

CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre · 26/08/2019 17:59

Cheese You know it!

WingBingo · 26/08/2019 18:48

I placed material over my hand and tried to click my fingers. I definitely can’t do it.

completelyclueless1 · 26/08/2019 19:11

@hoteltango thank god you're here! Grin I just saw it on the Brian Cox programme!

HearMeSnore · 26/08/2019 19:23

In most cars, if you unlock your car with the fob, then hold down the unlock button again all of the windows will roll down.

I learned this last summer. It was life changing.

Regarding finger-clicking...remember that trick Eric Morecambe used to do, pretending to catch something in a paper bag? He did it by clicking the fingers that were holding the bag. It sounds exactly like something landing in the bag. I tried it and it works. Hours of fun!

Great thread ✔️🤩Star

Biancadelrioisback · 26/08/2019 20:33

@Rosebud21 if you hum with your mouth open, that's singing...

Rubytinsleslippers · 26/08/2019 20:39

Pheasants can swim. Properly - like a duck. They can also run between 8 and 10 miles an hour... ( But usually in front of traffic instead of away ) you can watch them swimming on YouTube... ( Quiet day in the office anyone?)

rslsys · 26/08/2019 20:40

Hootenanny not live?? You’ll be telling me next that non of them are miming . . .

isthisit42 · 26/08/2019 21:05

Portsmouth is an island?!

Is wales an island? I know you have to go over a bridge to get there but is is connected by land to England at all?

redexpat · 26/08/2019 21:15

You dont have to go over the severn bridge to get to Wales, but many people do. Wales very much shares a border with England.
