Please tell me I'm not the only one awake?!

It's too hot for me to sleep, I've been in bed since 10pm tossing and turning, no duvet, changed the pillow cases twice as they're cooler when they're new ones and wandered around the house for a bit.

Making a mental list of all the things I need to do tomorrow --aside from drop dead due to lack of sleep!

-Laundry (the only good thing about this heat is that the washing dries quicker!)
-General hoover & clean.
-Trip to Lidl's & supermarket before they close early for bank holiday.
-Strip bed and change sheets.

I can't sleep either. Will be up with my 1year old at 6. Trying to decide whether to admit defeat and get up and have a coffee or keep laying in bed.

Cocodamol and Oracle work well for toothache. It's a bit pricey at £5 for a small tube but takes the edge off.

RebootYourEngine · 26/08/2019 04:15

I'm awake. Have been since 1am. No chance of me getting any more sleep as I am now up for work. I am already counting down the hours until bedtime.

moomoomummy · 26/08/2019 04:20

I am awake because I live in Australia! Hoping none of you see this message because you are all now soundly asleep.

Indecisivelurcher · 26/08/2019 04:30

My nearly 5yo Dd can't sleep. To be fair, once she'd got me up, neither could I. So after an hour and a half of trying, we've given up and are downstairs eating toast and watching Katy morag on Iplayer. Unfortunately the 2yo will be up in 2hrs... I'm screwed aren't I.

OneStar8383 · 26/08/2019 04:42

Have been awake since 3am too... have an unwell toddler (cold) and had huge fall out with DH... he has been sleeping away since. Guess he knew he got under my skin and hurt my feelings... first time off work in a long time and now not going away as planned... feeling quite sad and down but nothing can be done so here I am awake... feeling sorry for all of you with toothaches or teething babies. Not long now and hopefully toother archers u will get some help (clove oil amazing if u have any). X

Baby woke at 2.40 for a feed. Fed for 15 mins and then held her upright for 30 mins (reflux). Heard my big girl crying so swapped with DH so he had baby - he only needed to cosleep with her as she would be fine until 6. Just got my big girl off to sleep and I heard the baby crying. Rather than trying cuddling the baby or winding her again DH thought he would put the lights on and change the none existing poo nappy, he didn’t even check. I’m now feeding baby again and then will hold her upright for another 30 mins before going to sleep myself.

Sleep is for the weak right?

PotterHead1985 · 26/08/2019 05:04

@DuckWillow eh where the oblig cat pic?!!!? Grin

Lying here listening to my tummy making violent noises and screaming at my legs.

Rosere · 26/08/2019 05:06

I'm awake cos my kind DH decided to get into bed steaming drunk after a night with the neighbours and woke me up. I've to get up for work in a couple of hours and I'm so bloody cross. And wide awake. So cross!

JudgeLinda · 26/08/2019 05:08

Just trying some horlicks - vile! I don't know why I even got this from tescos - my mother loved it so I must have been feeling nostalgic!

sashh · 26/08/2019 05:09

Morning all, would anyone like a coffee?

This is a lie in for my,yesterday I was awake from 3.30.

JudgeLinda · 26/08/2019 05:11

@sashh

Yes please - just going to chuck the horlicks down the sink Smile

purplepandas · 26/08/2019 05:14

Me too. Now led on the floor of the family room in a hotel. Towels as s blanket. DD takes up all the space on the crap rickety tiny sofa bed. DH and other DD asleep too in bed. Contemplating whether to continue my n the marriage and feeling all options other than just carry on are impossible.

Sleepy vibe to all.

endofthelinefinally · 26/08/2019 05:14

I am awake with awful nausea and heartburn. Again.
Today is the day I have to take the really toxic weekly drugs and I haven't recovered from last week yet.
I can't remember what it feels like to be well. Sigh.

Thank goodness for MN and Netflix.

purplepandas · 26/08/2019 05:14

Sounds good @sashh, thanks Flowers

purplepandas · 26/08/2019 05:16

@endofthelinefinally, that sounds really tough. Sending strength to you (if that does not sound too crap).

endofthelinefinally · 26/08/2019 05:19

Thank you purplepandas.
Everything seems worse at night doesn't it.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/08/2019 05:22

Too hot to sleep.and insomnia normally dictates 3-4 am wake up
I tend to give up and get up.as ment to be 30 oc here today I've got washing on and about to clean kitchen, plan being get loads chores done before heat hits then sit and play games /watch dvd and doze with kids later

historysock · 26/08/2019 05:44

I've been awake since 3 which is my usual Waking time. I've had insomnia on and off since I was 17-22 years-so I've seen a lot of 3am's. It's especially bad at the moment.
I will get up soon and watch the sun come up. And be like a zombie by about 3 this afternoon. At least I'm not at work today, on the bright side.

fairydustandpixies · 26/08/2019 05:47

I've been up since 3.30am too. Bleurgh. Even moved into the spare room as it's cooler at the back of the house but Ddog has joined me and there's not much room on a single bed!

Moondancer73 · 26/08/2019 05:47

Wide awake too. Third lost nights sleep in a row 😔😴

Moondancer73 · 26/08/2019 05:48

That should say lousy - flipping autocorrect

fairydustandpixies · 26/08/2019 05:52

Just realised I can hear a washing machine on its final spin, is that one of you lot?! Grin

S0CKS · 26/08/2019 05:54

I'll take a coffee please.
At work today so im going to be exhausted but i woke up at 330 and have a very active mind which has been more active than spaghetti junction on a bank holiday!

NCBabyBoy · 26/08/2019 05:57

Teething baby has woken up in the dead of night for the third night in a row. Fortunately it only took 45 relatively calm minutes to settle him tonight, instead of 2 hours of screaming. He then woke up again after 20 minutes. Currently cuddling a sleeping baby, working up the courage to try and put him down. I do feel for him, but after taking 1.5 hours of screaming to go to sleep at bedtime my patience is wearing a bit thin...

user159 · 26/08/2019 06:03

DD usually wakes between 5-6 (she's 6 months) so my body clock has kicked in and I'm wide awake and have been for an hour yet she is still sound asleep! Contemplating getting up and enjoying a tea in the quiet downstairs, seems like forever since I've done that! DH snoring away next to me, amazing how his body clock can switch off so easily!
