Baby trousers for winter

Whitecandle · 23/08/2019 15:21

Hi guys. Me again.

If there is somewhere better to post this please let me know.

Just starting to buy one some larger size jumpers for my babies autumn/winter wardrobe. But have no idea what trousers go with jumpers?? All summer he has been in joggers as they go with T-shirt's. But IMO jumpers and joggers are a no no??

I don't think I like the idea of him in jeans all the time? Or maybe soft ones with the elastic pull on waist rather than a button would be ok?

Trivial I know but I have no idea!

For reference, DS is 7 months now so come October-December he will be 9-12 months.

Thanks!

Why would jumpers and joggers be a no no? I used to dress DS in joggers in winter with a vest and long sleeve t shirt and then a jumper on top if necessary

You can get nice jogger & sweatshirt sets.
JoJo mama also do nice baby leggings that are knitted.

I’ve has these in a few different sizes for my boys and they’ve been really good. Look like jeans but a lot stretchier and more comfortable

@SquatBetty maybe I should have said tracksuit bottom type joggers and knitted jumpers.

I just don't think I knitted jumper and tracksuit bottoms go... I wouldn't wear a knitted jumper and tracksuit bottoms.

I guess sweatshirt type ones would be fine but I am not buying those. X

Leggings normally here. Thin ones, thick ones and knitted ones. Not a big fan of jeans or joggers really. Also got come dungarees which were quite nice, usually cotton or thin corduroy though not denim.

chocpop · 23/08/2019 16:22

Baby leggings? Plain coloured ones? I'm planning on getting DD leggings for winter to go with her tops 😊

chocpop · 23/08/2019 16:22

Boden, Joules and Next are my fav sites btw!

NerrSnerr · 23/08/2019 16:25

At that age mine just wore leggings or a jumper over a sleep suit.

roseenglishrose · 23/08/2019 16:25

Dungarees and tights

Or Blade & Rose leggings

doadeer · 23/08/2019 16:30

Just get comfy stuff! My DS is 7 months too and in winter I'll still have him snuggled up in all in ones or blade and rose leggings. We have jeans but he never wears them as they don't look as comfortable. If you like jogging bottoms h&m do matching sets with hoodies you can put a long sleave vest or tshirt under.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 23/08/2019 16:33

Marks have some very reasonably priced organic cotton trousers in now. Personally I hate seeing babies in jeans - soft cotton joggers in bright colours are lovely.

Amber2019 · 23/08/2019 16:40

Jean's occasionally but mostly jogging suits, h&m, next etc all do the matching joggers, hoodies, jumpers and tshirts. Plenty to choose from.

CalamityJune · 23/08/2019 16:47

I liked it when DS was still small enough for leggings. Zara has some nice ones. Dungarees over jumpers looks cute as well.

Whitecandle · 23/08/2019 16:52

I always thought leggings would be too cold at winter? My legs would freeeeze.

Any recommendations would be great though if you have come across any that would be warm enough.

I've never put him in jeans and really don't want to. The thought is so uncomfortable for him.

Thanks guys x

You can get some fleece lined leggings or knitted leggings. Probably will come out in Sept when shops bring in their A/W ranges. Also I intend on getting DD a pram suit for winter, already got her a v warm winter coat which is 6-12m. If it's still chilly then I'll be utilising blankets. I think it depends on if your DS will be walking or in a buggy 😊 I think DD will be walking soon so I'll need to bulk buy warmer trousers. If she wasn't going to be walking I'd make up the shortfall with blankets.

doadeer · 23/08/2019 17:05

Leggings like Blade and Rose are same material as a jumper. But they won't be outside in the cold without blankets etc... And they won't get cold in the house will they? I have a boiling hot flat so we have the opposite problem!!

foxyfemke · 23/08/2019 17:06

Verbaudet lined trousers are amazing!

Camomila · 23/08/2019 17:07

I used to like those baby trousers with built in feet for winter. No worrying about getting cold feet when socks fell off. DS had some from M&S that looked fairly smart - sort of cord/velour material and looked nice with jumpers.

Fantababy · 23/08/2019 17:40

Jojo Maman leggings are really thick and comfy. If they're out their legs will presumably be under a blanket or in a cosy toes most of the time anyway?

Thegirlhasnoname · 23/08/2019 17:43

I’ve got knitted leggings for DD in the winter. You can get plain ones and patterned

saywhatwhatnow · 23/08/2019 17:48

These are a few we've had that I would say are suitable for winter. The ribbed leggings are quite thick. H&M have loads of choice online.

I do cosy knitted leggings mostly. Blade & Rose and JoJo. They're very warm, don't ride up and are also perfect for babywearing.
