Lumea IPL - which one?

After reading so many fantastic reviews of the Lumea IPL on MN, I've decided to take the plunge and invest. My question is, which model should I go for?

I'm willing to pay the top end price for the Prestige 956, but is it really worth it? The Web reviews are implying that any of the Prestige range, especially the 954, will be good so I'm very confused and don't want to hit the purchase button until I know!

If it helps, I have fair skin and thick, fast growing, dark hair. I spend £50 a month on sugaring (excluding legs), so anticipate a quick ROI (!). I intend to use it for chin, lip, underarm, legs, bikini (brazilian).

So ladies who have a Lumea or know the difference, please let me know

I know what you mean I found it totally confusing when I researched the Lumea 954 & 956.

The only difference is the 954 comes with 3 attachments, Face, body, underarm/bikini line

and 956 has 4 attachments a separate attachment for underarm and bikini line.

So I went with the 954 as I couldn't understand why the 956 was nearly £200 more for extra attachment? When the 954 does the same with 3 attachments.

In the manual it says do not use on Vagina, Labia your only supposed to do ur bikini line. I have done the top/sides off my vagina but weary off going anywhere closer!

I'm very happy with the 954 and am like you fair skinned and thick hair that grows back very quickly. But the Lumea has reduced my legs, face, arms, bikini line a lot

I've not had much success with underarms and that's the main reason I brought it. There's patches but no way the same success elsewhere but hoping in time the underarms will get in synch. I've been using it about 2 months now.

John Lewis has the 954 for £325.00. I paid £343.00 from

Not a Lumier, I bought the Remington IPL6500 on sale for £183 on Amazon (granted that was a while ago) and does it's job. I've only just got into the habit of lasering and it's working effectively. Legs are nearly completely hair free after 8 treatments and arm pits are halfway there after 5, same for bikini line (I'm a wuss so can't do many zaps before it's unbearable).

I paid £249 for the prestige 956 model on Amazon last Black Friday.
It didn't work for me so I sent it back under the 100 day money back guarantee.

Thank you everyone.
Especially @Madderthan - a really useful review.

Gonna go for the 954 and keep fingers crossed
