Moan about your job here

Winterfellismyhome · 22/08/2019 11:26

I need a place to moan

  1. Yes I have a flexible working arrangement, the fact that we're short staffed isn't my fault
  1. Stop being late to relieve me, it's so annoying.
  1. No, I'm not taking on extra responsibility for the same pay.

Feel free to add your own!

(FYI this is lighthearted. I know I could get a new job but this pays very well)

Where do I start?

Don't induce more women than necessary. The labour ward cannot cope with women being in labour for four - five days.

That would be a good starting point.

isseywithcats · 22/08/2019 12:23

i clean the front of house at tgi fridays and my big moan is why do people throw toilet tissues all over the floor in the ladies toilets and leave it there surely to god they dont do that at home

RezCowgirl · 22/08/2019 12:54

When you realise that you can't deliver on a project it does not mean you can start adding in phase 2 stuff when you push back the go live date.

And breathe 3 weeks to go and it's someone else problem to deliver the moon on a stick.

Winterfellismyhome · 22/08/2019 13:22

@isseywithcats no they dont! Because they have to clean it up themselves

My boss is really controlling.

managedmis · 22/08/2019 13:25

What an amazing idea for a thread!

A. If you would have told me ONE small thing this week you'd have saved me a heap of time. You've worked here years, but because you leave on Friday you just don't give a fuck and I should suffer? Nice. Real nice.

S0CKS · 22/08/2019 13:27

No you cannot keep giving me more tasks for the same money. Grr

pinkunicorn20 · 22/08/2019 13:29

I have a full client load and cannot see you earlier because it's more convenient for you.
If I've arrived an hour earlier at work it's because I have paperwork to complete or another work related task.
If you need an earlier appointment or a different day ring in advance!!

Daisypie · 22/08/2019 13:30

Having a 'big personality' does not make you a good facilitator. Or an easy colleague.

bakingcupcakes · 22/08/2019 13:39

I didn't 'do anything differently' when I sold more stuff this week. I just happened to see customers with money they wanted to spend. 'What did you do differently' is a work question that makes me want to throw myself under a bus! Grin

beccarocksbaby · 22/08/2019 13:50

I'm only taking 4.5 months mat leave so KIT days will not be high on my list of priorities.

You wonder why you struggle to recruit but you're in an industry which is incredibly short staffed and you offer an OK salary and very few perks (if any) to work in one of the most challenging client groups.

Pay peanuts and you'll get low levels of education in your applicants.

LostStars39 · 22/08/2019 13:53

I’m so bored I literally can’t take it anymore! I have nothing to do and feel like my brain is decaying 😩

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 22/08/2019 15:52

@loststars39

Me too! (I guess why we're both on here). I have been watching the clock slowly tick round for hours.

maidenover · 22/08/2019 15:59

I would moan about my job but my contract hasn’t been renewed, apparently this is nothing to do with me being on maternity leave even though they are still recruiting people in the team

LostStars39 · 22/08/2019 16:38

@thatmustbenigelwiththebrie it’s painful isn’t it :( I’ve left my previous job as it was the complete opposite with not a second to breathe! I’m not sure which I prefer

TantrumsAndBalloons · 22/08/2019 16:42

Writing URGENT and typing your whole message in capital letters does not make it any more important than the other 56 people who have emailed today

Bitching about your colleagues on slack is a very bad fucking idea - because you sent it to the wrong person

KeeperofthePeace · 22/08/2019 17:29

The money is so good. The flexible working is good. I can WFH one day a week without permission, the work is pretty u demanding.... BUT....

It is sooooooooo boring! So, so boring. I have one month left to complete probation and I am seriously worried I will miss something and cock it all up because it is so dreadfully dull and my mind wanders constantly.

My manager is having some kind of emotional breakdown as her manager micromanages her. It is sad to see unfold.

My manager won't listen to advice, logic or reason soooo nothing is going to change.

But despite that, it is still the most boring job, in the world.

ILoveAnOwl · 22/08/2019 17:32

Just tell me if I've got a job or not post Christmas. Leaving everyone with a massive cloud over them is not conducive to productivity!

3 little words

Senior leadership team 😂😂😂

Invisimamma · 22/08/2019 17:39

Line manager reviewing a document for me, sets up meeting to discuss changes, but calls me first to run through changes, then emails me with same thing she just called me about and still wants to meet me next week to run through the changes. Why can't she just track changes in word and email me it back like everyone else!? Angry. Then we can meet if necessary. So much wasted time.

Biancadelrioisback · 22/08/2019 17:42

FUCK OFF GARETH!!!

ArabellaDoreenFig · 22/08/2019 17:43

The reason we have lost 3 department heads in 3 years is because you never give them the support they keep telling you they need!!

ArabellaDoreenFig · 22/08/2019 17:44

millmoo

I hear you!

Nutkin123 · 22/08/2019 17:55

I just really don't like being told what to do Grin
