My Nana used to make the most loveliest pudding i have ever had when i was little, but i do not know what is was called. HomeMade Rice Pudding with Jam them hot Meringue underneath it all. Have asked all my family and they can remember it but have no idea either! Like a Baked Alaska but with Rice Pudding!

Baked Alaska. I've had it once in my life - in fact that's the only time I've ever seen it on a menu. It was stunning and I'd live to jnkw where I can buy one now!

Atacama too
Rice pudding
If unavailable then various sponge puddings with custard, no fruit allowed

Debbie Gibson desert.

Apple or rhubarb crumble, with custard or really good dairy vanilla ice cream (the kind you have to chew it’s so rich).

My mum’s treacle sponge. It’s just...ugh I’m salivating thinking of it. With cream, because custard makes me want to barf unless it’s hidden in a layer of trifle!

Tiramisu

Old Delia recipe for Rich Chocolate Mousse is heavenly. No cream in the recipe, only eggs and Bournville choc, with a big dollop of sweetened, whipped double cream on top. So delicious and addictive I make it only every few years or so as my son and I gorge ourselves on it without restraint!

All of them. Lemon tart with whipped cream and fresh raspberries, i love a sorbet especially raspberry, a decent cherry pie served hot with ice cream. Very 70s but i love a good black forest gateaux too. And tiramisu. And cheesecake. This is why I don't often bake any more!

Eton mess.

And just for interest, I always thought the phrase was "getting your just desserts" ( because of the way it's pronounced) but it's "getting your just deserts" i.e. getting what you deserve, but nothing to do with a hot, dry expanse of sand...

avamiah · 24/08/2019 03:15

Blackcurrent cheesecake

Wincarnis · 24/08/2019 03:18

Mojave

Syrup sponge
Coconut sponge
Sussex pond pudding

Always with custard, never cream

hazandduck · 24/08/2019 07:55

Ooh @HugoLast I never knew that! Wonder why it’s pronounced like that? Because of how ‘deserve’ is said?
