Impossible to narrow down to one...
summer - tart au citron with cream
winter - sticky toffee pud with ice cream

q - how do you spell desert ie to abandon someone? Is that right?

Mileysmiley · 21/08/2019 18:36

Favourite dessert: sponge pudding with custard.

Favourite desert: Atacama.

Yes, I know I'm an arse. :o

WhiteVixen · 21/08/2019 19:02

Eton Mess, or pavlova. Basically, meringue and cream and fruit.

HazelBite · 21/08/2019 19:13

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/08/2019 19:18

tigger001 · 21/08/2019 19:22

Warm chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream or warm triple Chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream

Or apple crumble and custard, but hard to find one that's good enough when dinning out.

LemonPrism · 21/08/2019 19:22

A specific baileys cheesecake I have not had in 12 years. I miss it.

Otherwise - banoffee pie.

LemonPrism · 21/08/2019 19:24

Favourite desert is the Kalahari

CharDeeMacDennis · 21/08/2019 19:32

I always used to get confused between desert and dessert. Somebody told me to remember it like this - Dessert has two S's because you always want a second helping!

And then there's the verb "to desert", which is spelled like desert but pronounced like dessert. Love English Grin

BigStripeyBastard · 21/08/2019 19:55

I detest the word dessert! Hate it. And now I've said it so many times while reading this thread, it's lost all meaning and has stopped sounding like a real word.
😂

PrincessSarene · 21/08/2019 20:01

@DarkNoise Just read that the Gobi desert has Snow Leopards and singing sand dunes... that makes it a very cool desert indeed Smile

@Lemonsaretheonlyfruit Grin Maybe there’s a market for desert desserts? Sugar can look a lot like sand so one could probably sculpt some into dunes somehow... maybe something for Masterchef/GBBO though rather than my kitchen!

Jsmith99 · 21/08/2019 20:01

Atacama for me. The views of the Andes are absolutely stunning.

As for puddings, there is nothing better than homemade plum crumble, made with English plums when in season. Served with proper custard, of course.

I will always love a chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream, too.

cato75 · 21/08/2019 20:21

Tiramisu or a homemade sherry trifle.

NatashaRomanov · 21/08/2019 20:37

My favourite desert is the desert planet of Arrakis, Dune.

Pudding is more difficult.
Tiramisu. Chocolate fondant. Baked vanilla cheesecake with fresh berries and cream. Key lime pie. Sticky toffee pudding. Bread and butter pudding.
I like pudding Grin

Camomila · 21/08/2019 20:59

eton mess
Italian wedding/baptism cakes
anything hot with fruit
tiramisu
oh and once a uni flatemate made chocolate angel delight with baileys instead of milk!

Marlena1 · 21/08/2019 22:00

If we are all being correct, dessert must have fresh fruit. Otherwise it's a puddingGrin

VetOnCall · 21/08/2019 22:02

Dessert: tiramisu, raspberry and white chocolate pavlova or anything involving chocolate and cherries.

Desert: Atacama, for the stargazing.
