Drinks for breakfast

My kids dd7 and ds6 don't like milk. What does everyone's children drink at breakfast?

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 14/08/2019 21:45

A small glass of fruit juice

ExpletiveDelighted · 14/08/2019 21:46

Water

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 14/08/2019 21:48

Water

MarkRonsonsMother · 14/08/2019 21:49

Oat, Coconut, Soya or Almond.

Very rarely a smoothie.

Leftiefterson · 14/08/2019 21:57

Could you try alternative milk? Oat is fairly tasty. Failing that water.

CakeNinja · 14/08/2019 21:59

Water normally.
Occasionally dds will make themselves smoothies but I don’t buy juice/squash etc (will get nice treats in for special occasions but I see ‘drinks’ as being sugary emptiness and not a habit I want to get them used to) so it’s water or nothing.

PurpleDaisies · 14/08/2019 21:59

What do they drink when it isn’t breakfast time? Can’t they just drink that?

Star801 · 14/08/2019 22:01

Smoothie

Teddybear45 · 14/08/2019 22:02

If your kids don’t like their greens would you allow them to stop eating them too? Or does it just apply to milk?

PurpleDaisies · 14/08/2019 22:05

Drinking milk shouldn’t be compulsory teddy. Confused

DragonMamma · 14/08/2019 22:05

Mine have a cup of tea or water

LBOCS2 · 14/08/2019 22:06

I vomited over my reception teacher's skirt because she made me drink milk, so it's very much not a compulsory drink in this house.

My DC drink water, fruit juice or milk with breakfast.

Jozen · 14/08/2019 22:08

Water or cup of tea.
Hot chocolate on a Friday.

eddiemairswife · 14/08/2019 22:10

A nice cup of tea.

Friolero · 14/08/2019 22:11

Water

NotYourHolidayDick · 14/08/2019 22:12

Squash or fruit juice. Never water or milk.

SallyWD · 14/08/2019 22:12

munemema · 14/08/2019 22:13

Milky tea!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 14/08/2019 22:13

I can't drink milk, either. I have squash or ginger tea. Sometimes a fruit smoothie.

ReginaGeorgeous · 14/08/2019 22:15

Fresh orange juice.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/08/2019 22:22

Maybe try blending natural yoghurt, milk and a tin of fruit in juice (peach or mango work really well). You can shove a banana or two in there too. Obviously not for everyday, but a decent way of getting some calcium down them!

Sorrysorrysosorry · 14/08/2019 22:24

Milk or water or sometimes at the weekend, when it’s cold, a hot chocolate made with cocoa powder and a little bit of sugar

BertrandRussell · 14/08/2019 22:26

Tea.

Roo2012 · 14/08/2019 22:28

I hate milk to drink, used to lose my playtime because I couldn't bring myself to drink it. My kids usually have water. Eldest likes tea occasionally, youngest has squash sometimes, both have fruit juice occasionally if we're at a premier in

outthewindow · 14/08/2019 22:32

@Teddybear45 why would they have to drink milk though? It's hardly the same as eating vegetables. Plenty of other sources of calcium out there.

Op to answer you, ds goes between milk, water or watered down fruit juice.
