My kids dd7 and ds6 don't like milk. What does everyone's children drink at breakfast?

OP posts:

Fruit juice (watered down a bit). Sometimes hot blackcurrant or tea (normal or red bush).

MyDcAreMarvel · 14/08/2019 22:39

Water , are all the tea drinkers teenagers? Tea isn’t suitable for children.

elizabethdraper · 14/08/2019 22:42

Water or fruit tea

Chocolate35 · 14/08/2019 22:43

Water or watered down fruit juice, my kids really don’t like milk.

Hmmmbop · 14/08/2019 22:44

Water. I don't really get the obsession with kids drinking milk once they're weaned (from breast or formula). DS has never drunk milk, it doesn't occur to me to offer it.

Hmmmbop · 14/08/2019 22:44

Probably not helped by me not liking milk!

AwesomeTrucker · 14/08/2019 22:49

Whatever they want, don't see the point in a special drink just because its breakfast. Could be water/almond milk/ fruit juice/ diluting juice.

Onesailwait · 14/08/2019 22:51

Not popular on here but my kids have a cup of tea at breakfast time, have done since they were around 1. Its my favorite time of the day, we are all busy but we sit every morning at the kichen table with a large pot of tea.

danni0509 · 14/08/2019 22:52

Orange Squash.

Butterflykiss00 · 14/08/2019 22:58

@Onesailwait aww 🥰 I used to do that with my family ❤️

Onesailwait · 14/08/2019 23:27

@ButterflyKiss00 we do it after school to, cuppa & a biscuit before homework. Its warm & familiar and comforting, especially for my older kids if they've had a shitty day even if I'm really pissed off at them I feel like us sitting & having tea together says this is your safe place & I still love you whatever happens (I realize its just tea but i had a shitty childhood & when i went to my grandma's she woukd make me tea, to me it felt like love & safety)

redeyetonowheregood · 14/08/2019 23:35

Water usually or decaf tea in the winter sometimes.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 14/08/2019 23:38

Fruit juice if I've remembered or thought tobuyit, if not water. They have milk already in their cereal we have squash, all sugar freebut that's not for breakfast, that's too drink throughout the day. Milk with dinner

Camomila · 15/08/2019 07:07

water
diluted fruit juice
'coffee'...warm milk with a bit of ovaltine!

BertrandRussell · 15/08/2019 07:52

I’d love for someone to say “Coke, of course. What else?”

NotYourHolidayDick · 15/08/2019 08:55

Bert that's my breakfast 🙈
First thing I do in the morning is grab a can of coke. Not the kids though!

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 15/08/2019 09:58

Squash or water.

ThePhoenixRises · 15/08/2019 09:59

Yoghurt drink
Hot chocolate
Fruit juice
Smoothie

Zoflorabore · 15/08/2019 10:01

Dd (8) doesn't even like milk on cereal so breakfasts can be a nightmare.

She drinks very weak juice, apple and black currant and then water all day at school, including lunch.
